Lebanon Optimist Club

Welcome, my name is Christine Davies and I am the Lebanon Optimist President from October 1st, 2007-September 30th, 2008.

I would like to personally invite you to join an Optimist meeting and to see what we are about.  I know when I first came to a meeting, I didn't know what to expect, I had no clue why I was coming to a meeting, I am not always "optimistic".  I decided when I became a member, that I wanted to be more involved in the club so I could understand the club more and know more about the club.  I admit, I dont know everything.  I've only been with the club for about two years, but this is one awesome club.  Because I have always wanted to work with kids, and I am currently working in an alternative school, I found this club to be beneficial to me and to our community. 

And even though I'm not always optimistic, that doesnt mean I can't be involved in the club.

Last year I decided I wanted to be on the board.  I was just gonna do something small, like take meeting minutes (Secretary), but I was nominated to become President Elect for 2006-2007 which makes me president for 2007-2008.  (Our fiscal year is October 1st til September 30th.)  and of course, I took the challenge.  And I'm very excited in seeing more members in the club and have more events to support the youth in our community.

I would love to have you come check out the club...and maybe you'll enjoy it like I did and join the club.
