Raphael Class :      Thursday 9:00-10:20 am…ages 5-8 grades k-2

This studio class will be introduced to the language of Art…Line, shape, color, texture, value, space, and form. Our projects will be based on these Elements of Art.  The goal of this class will be to teach the students how to begin to apply the EOAl in drawing, painting, & sculpting so that the can be confident in their Art.  Art History will be taught as well.

Michelangelo Class:   Thursday 10:25 – 12:25 pm…ages 8-12   grades 3- 5

This studio class will further their knowledge of the EOA & begin to explore Balance, Variety, Movement, Gradation, and Unity.  Our projects will be based on a deeper understanding of the EOA with the introduction of the Principles of design.  The goal of this class will be to deepen the students understanding of design.  Art History will be taught as well.

Da Vinci Class:       Friday 9:45-noon…high school only

This will be advanced studio class.  You will need to speak with me to be in this class.

 

  • Classes begin September 4th & end May 15th.
  • All classes will use a variety of mediums including pencil, markers, oil pastels, chalk, acrylic paints, watercolors, and clay.
  • Convenient location with easy access from I35, the Toll Road, Mopac, or Parmer
  • A registration fee of $50.00/student is due upon registration.  Tuition is $12/student per class.  Tuition for the entire month is due on the 1st class of each month.  For families enrolling 3 or more children, tuition is $10/student per class.
  • All of my classes are taught from a Christian point of view.  We open & close each class in prayer.

What a joy it is to teach young people!!  Their minds are so fresh and unique.  My studio is a wonderful place for them to come to learn & to create.

Registration Package 2008-2009

 

  1. Tuition is $12/student per class.    Tuition is due on the first day of class of each month for the entire month.  You pay only for the days that the studio is open.  If your child is absent from class, tuition is still due for that day.  If something happens & I cannot teach a certain day; our make-up day will be in May.    Please make checks out to:  Lea Whatley.

 

  1. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 due upon registration.

 

  1. The Art Fair will be one evening in May, 2009.  This day will be considered an art day and is part of May’s tuition.  There will be no regular class that day.  All Da Vinci students need to plan to help set things up for the fair by arriving 1 hour early.  I will also need help (picking up close pins & taking tables to the truck) after the Art Fair.  It is too big of a celebration for me to do alone.  Thanks

 

  1. All of my classes are taught from a Christian point of view.  We open & close in prayer.

 

  1. Please arrive on time.   Students are allowed to arrive 10 minutes early, but no earlier than that.  Please pick your students up on time after class.

 

  1. The  Thurs classes take a mid class break.  The kids are encouraged to bring water bottles.
  2. Please have the kids dress for a mess.  I have smocks, but we use high quality mediums in here that will stain & ruin clothes!!! 

 

  1. Each class will do 1- 2 ceramic projects over the year.  Attendance is required to insure that your child is able to do the ceramic projects.  Older classes usually just do one ceramic project.

 

  1. Attendance is required to insure that your child gets to do all the projects, especially the ceramic projects.  Make- up classes are not provided.  I don’t have any other time during the week to make-up classes.
