Hello from Jenny, Roger and family at Leatherfoot Stud, in Oaro, situated in the very scenic and beautiful South Island of New Zealand, not far from Kaikoura, a wonderful coastline with great fishing and diving, fresh seafood at our doorstep, we can see whales and dolphins when they are out sea, then we go up 2000ft the veiws are amazing.As you will see in our photo gallery we have wild fallow deer which we do not shoot and try and protect as we enjoy seeing them around, my eldest son comes pig hunting, mainly to keep them under control, I have had horses for 45 yrs,appaloosas for 17 yrs of them I have owned appaloosas, my first was Yaymah Leatherfoot,to this day she is a very loyal wonerderful horse, our foundation mares are supreme halter mares and have been ridden under saddle.My partner Roger and I have recently decided to breed a fine type of highly coloured miniature appaloosas for when we retire from the full sized ones. We do have high standards of the mares that we will be accepting to our stallions, our goal is breed quality not quantity,we hope you enjoy our website and please sign our guestbook before you leave, your comments are very valuable to us.
