      My Initial Study Plan

If you're lucky you find something that reflects you
Helps you feel your life, protects you
Cradles you and connects you to everything

-- Dar Williams

A first goal for this website is to document my journey to becoming a teacher. This project may be of interest because of my non-traditional approach to achieving this goal: I have no plans to become certified; I have no interest in enrolling in a traditional teacher education program. Instead I will take an approach that may seem radical and even subversive in this age of professionalism: I will entrust my "teacher education" to myself. More information on the About page.

A second goal for this website is to continue in the tradition of a short-lived organisation I co-founded in college: The Alternative Learning and Back to Nature Press. Our goal was -- and my goal continues to be -- to help people live with a sense of wonder, magic, and beauty; to provide people with resources to take control of their own lives and learning; and to help create a culture of autodidacts, one person at a time.

I have an expansive personality. That means I probably won't be able to limit myself to two goals. It will keep expanding. More exciting ideas will come to me. Such is life.

I'm *very* interested in hearing from like-minded people. Part of my motivation for creating a website is so I can interact with others throughout the project. I'm happy to answer questions, discuss books or ideas, work out a skills exchange, offer advice, learn about you, and perhaps other things, though I can't foresee what you will ask!

I am also looking for: 1.) Compatible mentors and people who have "been there before." 2.) A place to stay in the Boston/Cambridge area (possibly part time) in exchange for any kind of work that might be helpful to you. Email me if you can help with either!

My email address is dewiniaeth~*spam*~@gmail.com. Just take out the ~*spam*~ part!
