Playgroups
What is the playgroup's purpose? The
purpose of a playgroup is for the moms to get to know each other while
our children play. Our goal is that our relationships will deepen and
make a stronger bond within the larger MOMS Club® group.
How large are the playgroups? Ideally
the playgroups remain small to help cultivate a more intimate
relationship among their members. Playgroups will be capped at eight
members. In the event that a playgroup reaches six to eight members, a
new playgroup will be formed to accommodate new members with children
in that age range. This insures that groups are small enough to be
personal, yet large enough that if someone can't make it, there are
still enough to participate.
What are the ages of the playgroups? Most
playgroups have a six month age spread or less. In some cases there are
larger age spreads, but we attempt to keep children together with those close to their own age as much as possible.
How often do the playgroups meet? Each
playgroup sets its own schedule. The options are to meet weekly or
biweekly depending on the needs of the members. Most playgroups meet
weekly for about two hours. If your playgroup falls on a day where
there is a MOMS Club activity planned, members will vote on whether or
not to cancel playgroup.
Where do the playgroups meet? Playgroups
have the option of meeting at a number of different locations. Some
playgroups meet at their own houses, but some choose to meet at local
parks or even go out to lunch or hit the mall. Once playgroups and
contact people are established, the group will decide the rotation
schedule.
Can I visit a playgroup before I join the club? For
liability purposes, non-members are not allowed to attend events at
members' house's and also are not allowed to attend playgroups. Our
Membership Vice President can fill you in on any questions you have regarding
playgroups.
Where do I go if I have other questions about my playgroup? Each
playgroup will have a playgroup leader. They will be in charge of their
group, which means keeping the playgroup coordinator informed of their
meeting day and time; being the one that the members get in touch with
for any questions concerning their playgroup; and maintaining an up to
date playgroup contact list for the playgroup members. You are also
always welcome to contact the playgroup coordinator or the Membership
Vice President with any questions or concerns about playgroups.
