We are currently taking a sabbatical, revisiting our musical roots and plan to relaunch the band with a new line up and new songs some time next year - so watch this space!!!
Steve is currently playing with the covers band ROCK-IT! For more details and gigs, see
http://www.rock-it.net
Andy is currently playing with VIRTUALRELICS. See http://bandmix.co.uk/ |

| Two gigs were cancelled this month due to circumstances (landlords!) beyong our control. Still, we had a fantastic night at the Rose & Crown in Malmesbury in front of Andy's home crowd. Thanks to everyone for coming along. We'll be back later in the year! |

|
| The main news this month is that Ian has decided to take a sabbatical from his job which means he will not be around much after July 2007. Fortunately, Graham, who has gigged with LD50 previously, can stand in for him, so it should be business as usual. We also have an exploding drum problem that Steve P is trying to sort out. Hopefully all will be sorted in time for our next gig which is at the Rose & Crown in Malmesbury on Saturday 14th April. This is Andy's local so it should be a great night with a full house. Hope to see everyone there. |

| Thanks to everyone at the Trout in Keynsham for coming along and supporting us and making it a great evening. "Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi and "All Night Long" by AC/DC are now in the set, and we are currently working on the Killers song "When you were young". We plan to record a new demo CD soon. Next gig is on Saturday February 24th at the Redpost, Peasedown St John. Everyone welcome! |

|
| Happy New Year! We're back from holidays and ready to go with weekly rehearsals in Yate, Almondsbury or Bath. Our set list continues to grow with new covers from Bon Jovi, Status Quo and AC/DC, which we hope to present at our first gig of 2007 at the Trout Tavern, Keynsham on Saturday 27th January. Hope to see you all there. |

| We are back on the road and all pistons pumping with Steve our new drummer. Well done to Steve who had to learn over 20 songs in 6 weeks! A great opening gig for us at the Redpost in Peasedown St John on Saturday 25th November with a tempting follow up offer of playing New Year's Eve. Next up is the George and Dragon at Winterbourne on Friday 1st December so hope to see you all there! |

|
We've had to postpone our gigs at Barrs Court, Radstock Hotel and The Three Cups until 2007 because our new drummer Tim has left the band.
We are now working on some new songs with another drummer and are hoping we'll be ready to perform these by the end of November so "watch this space". |

We've had a hectic 6 months playing and recording, and enjoyed some great gigs. Notably two at the Red Post in Peasedown St John and we're looking forward to another later in the year. We've introduced some new tracks (including White Wedding and Led Zep's Rock 'n Roll) which have gone down really well.
This month we are very sad to have to say farewell to our drummer Eric Mayes who has a new job and is moving to Cambridge. Eric has inspired us all and set the high standards of playing which have become an LD50 hallmark. We are hoping he will return for the Team BLR party on Sept 16th for one final gig. Thanks Eric - we'll miss you!
In the meantime we have auditioned for a new drummer and are delighted to have found Tim Hutt. Tim has lots of experience and an acoustic (loud!) drum kit with a very sweet cow bell. So we are busy rehearsing at Barking Dog Studios, assisted by Graham on vocals who is filling in for Ian whilst he spends the summer converting an old barn in France into something habitable by humans.
We have also recorded Mama Cat (an Ian Bygraves/LD50 original) which will be available on a CD being released on 27th August. This charity fundraising CD, organised by the 4014 Project - great work guys, features 20 original tracks from local bands and costs just £10. Check out: http://gigs.homestead.com/RECORD0.html
After a busy first half we're getting ready for the Autumn round of gigs. Hope to see you there. |

Happy New Year to all!
We have quite a few gigs already lined up for 2006 and hope to book a few more soon to keep ourselves busy!
Looking back over the last couple of months, we've been lucky to have played some memorable gigs and really enjoyed ourselves with some great audiences! We will be very sad to see the wonderful hosts Si & Becky leave the Wheelwrights Arms but we wish them well and hope to play at their Farewell Bash (date tba) when an autographed thong will be presented to Becks!
We also had great nights at the Cat & Wheel and the Suffock Arms and hope to return to both soon.
Looking forward, we have some new songs as "work in progress" and we hope, at some point this year, to record a live CD.
Sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the band in 2005 and we hope to see you all very soon. |

After a quiet summer, LD50 are back! Four gigs over consecutive weekends at the end of August tested our resilience but great audiences made up for tiredness and sore fingers, and we have more bookings as a result. We finally played at The Farriers and the Sunday afternoon sets were a very different experience! We had a great night at The Trout in Keynsham and have been booked to play there again in March and September next year. We have some new venues coming up and a couple of new songs as "work in progress", including the much awaited Salad Days with music from Steve and lyrics by Eric. Hope to see you soon! |

Apologies to everyone intending to come to the Farriers Arms in Fishponds on Saturday May 14th but the gig has been cancelled. We don't know why although we are hoping to reschedule it for later in the year. Pity because we were really looking forward to it but that's the music business!!!
On a more positive note, you may have noticed our website url - www.LD50.info - being promoted on no less than two racing Metros courtesy of Team BLR (Barry Lake Racing). And we congratulate Barry on his first ever win, due we think to only having 3 wheels on the track whilst cornering, on 2nd May at Castle Combe Circuit. A really great night at the Cat & Wheel on April 1st. Not only Steve's half century but a super audience, a great atmosphere and a nice friendly pub. "Mamma Cat" (penned by our own Mr Ian) had its second public performance and we have got some really good photos (thanks Tom). Also in the audience were Jon & Ell from The 4014 Project - the only What's On guide dedicated to the Malmesbury and Tetbury music scene. Check out www.4014.co.uk and www.MThreeW.co.uk.
Our first experience of playing in Trowbridge was a little disappointing as there weren't many people at The Courthouse but then it was mid-week and and Chelsea were playing Liverpool. As they haven't managed to pull in the crowds, the Courthouse has now cancelled all their Wednesday live music bookings. |

Our first gig of 2005, which included some new songs, is already under our collective belt and we are looking forward to the next one on Saturday March 12th at The Fire Engine. Here may well see the inaugural performance of "Mamma Cat" !!!!
In the meantime, some new feedback has been added and there are some pix from our recent practice when Steve broke a string and Ian played bass. And, talking of feedback, do we have a No. 1 fan? |

December 2004
We have now recorded, mixed and burnt our first demo CD! Send an email to the webmaster if you would like a copy.
Bookings are being sought for 2005 and we will be back at The Old Tavern, Stapleton, Bristol on Sunday 6th February.
November 2004
We enjoyed great gigs in Warminster and Melksham last month and are looking for more bookings. More thanks to the Mclaughlins for their rousing support at the Pilot!
In the meantime, we are working on a new set that includes one of Ian's own compositions - Mamma Cat, which we hope will have its world premier shortly!!
September 2004
A BIG thank you to our stalwart and resilient supporters, especially - Anna, Catherine, Cindy, Jane, Bazza & Kevin, Roadies: Tom & John, Rich for use of additional PA and general musical advice and everyone at the Malmesbury gig.
We now have Lighting Equipment for hire for anyone running a gig, disco or karaoke.
August 2004 Played at the Crown & Horseshoe - Saturday 28th August.
