Vision Statement
The vision of Lighthouse Christian Academy is to raise up effective leaders of Godly character who will blend academic achievement and biblical truth to influence society for the glory of God. Students will grow and develop in an atmosphere permeated with God’s love and grace where each child will mature at their individual pace, secure and unthreatened. By focusing on Christ, Lighthouse Christian Academy will maximize the gifts and abilities of every student and prepare them to be “salt and light” in the world. Lighthouse Christian Academy students will be trained to be dynamic and interactive in the engagement of our culture from a biblical worldview inspired by spiritual integration and personal commitment to Christ. Through excellence in teaching, Lighthouse Christian Academy students will have the benefits of a challenging course of study emphasizing reading and mathematical competencies integrated with technologies that result in the development and application of higher cognitive skills.

May 12, 2008 The Importance of the Teacher
Does our Lord Jesus speak to the importance of a teacher?
Jesus states in Luke 6:40 that, “A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.” I believe this instruction sums up Jesus’ own philosophy of education.
We cannot find anywhere else where Jesus specifically and personally mentions the training of the young, and impressionable. So, this must be very important.
So, if we adults want to be trained by godly teachers how much more should we want our children to be trained by men and women who not only rely on the Bible, but see the world around them through the lens of Scripture.
The pupil will be like the teacher – that is an idea to meditate on.
