Chi Sao, is a sensitivity based contact reflex drill in where two students rolling arms in a rythmic fashion can practice reacting to each others attacks. This teaches the student to fight in close range situatiuons, giving students a faster reaction time to attacks in close range. It conditions a reflex type reaction to attacks, whether soft, or abrupt, when often it is difficult to control an opponent at close range.
