Los Angeles WESTSIDE Genealogical Society

   LAWGS was founded in April 1982 for the purpose of supporting and promoting genealogical activity in the Westside of Los Angeles.

We meet on the 3rd Friday of the month with no meetings held in July and December.  Our meeting time is from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Burton Chace Park Community Room 13650 Mindanao Way in Marina Del Rey;  click this link for general directions to Marina Del Rey

Each General Meeting observes the following schedule:


7:00 pm -- Pre-meeting activities include:  Beginner's Corner;  Membership table;  FREE materials table; Monthly Educational Table Topic; Sale Table of Special Products; Family History software assistance; Surprise Drawing tickets; Refreshments and plenty of talk


7:30 pm-9:00 pm -- BRIEF BUSINESS MEETING, ANNOUNCEMENTS, SURPRISE DRAWING; SCHEDULED PROGRAM


optional 9:00 pm+ -- after-meeting 'chat'n eat' (dutch treat) at Jerry's Deli

QUERIES FOR RESEARCH

Queries for Research (Q4Rs) are answered and local research  is conducted as time permits. We do this on a volunteer basis with a few hearty souls willing to devote their time to it. We will let you know if your Q4R is beyond our scope or time commitment. We do not charge a fee for this work but gratefully accept donations to the LAWGS Society.
