LIP: Thanks so much for doing this interview with us today! Can you please tell us some things about yourself before we start this thing up?
LIP: How did you get your start in singing?
LIP: How would you describe your music for all of us who haven't heard it yet?
LIP: Who do you look up to musically?
LIP: You play the guitar with your songs- when did you learn to play the guitar?
LIP: You write most of your own songs- what gives you inspiration?
LIP: Since you're so young, do you have trouble with getting your way when it comes to how you want your music to sound?
LIP: How did you come up with the name “Finally Out of PE” for your album?
LIP: You've gotten to work with some big names (Bob Saget in “Raising Dad”, Jennifer Garner in “13 Going on 30”)- who would you like to work with in the future?
LIP: How did you feel when “Raising Dad” got canceled? What was it like shooting the last episode?
LIP: Do you prefer being in movies or being a part of a TV show?
LIP: Do you think it's harder to play a character that's based on a real person (like you did in “Right on Track”) or one that's fictional?
LIP: Working with all the girls on “Sleepover” must have been like a nonstop party: what’s your favorite behind-the-scenes story?
LIP: You just turned 15- what did you do for your birthday?
LIP: Thanks again for the interview, Brie! We just have two more questions. If you were born male, what would you have been named? (If you don’t know, what would you have liked to have been named?)
LIP: And lastly, do you have a message you would like to give to all of your fans out there reading this?
Brie: "Let's see.....I'm addicted to Paper Mario 2, orange tic tacs, and Marc Jacobs. How's that for starters?"
BL: "I was on a tv series called Raising Dad and there was a musical guest on the show whose manager approached me. I eventually ended up with a different manager who introduced my demo to Tommy Mottola and the rest is history!"
BL: "I'm starting a new genre - alternative pop....it's not all rock and it's not all pop, the lyrics I think are provocative so I'm calling it alternative pop. My label describes it a cross between Pink and Edie Brickell (if you don't know her look her up, she's my idol)"
BL: "Well, I just mentioned Edie, I also look up to Maroon 5, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Pink, Carole King, White Stripes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Jamie Cullum."
BL: "I started on the set of Raising Dad. I used to play with Beau Wirick who was on the show and is an amazing guitarist. He is now in college (GO BEAU! WOOT!) and I have an instructor who also teaches me bass and piano. He is also my music director."
BL: "All my songs are usually inspired by true life experiences....Just being a teenage girl and going through life. I feel better when I put my feelings down in songs and sometimes I actually listen to them if I'm feeling a particular way that the music might help me get through whatever I'm struggling with. I hope it can do the same for anyone else who is kind enough to buy a copy of the CD."
BL: "Not really. The label and Tommy have been so supportive. I actually surprised them with a song called "Finally Out of PE" and they liked it so much that they made it the title track. I don't have much say over which songs will be the singles but rarely the artists do - you have to trust your team and let the experts do what they think is best."
BL: "I was tormented by this one PE teacher and when my mom told me that I got the record deal and could be home schooled, I said "Yes, I'm finally out of PE....hey, that's what I'm going to call my album!" Luckily, I was able to write a song that the label liked enough to make it the title track."
BL: "Catherine Zeta Jones, Jenna Malone, and Adam Brody."
BL: "We didn't know it was going to be the last episode...they don't decide those things until much later. We actually expected to return but for some reason I really cried when the last show wrapped...I think I knew on some level that this was the last time. I really miss everyone to this day - I even heard rumor that Paramount is kicking themselves for not renewing it....Paramount was great, I loved the lot and everyone that worked there."
BL: "I would really like to focus on film. I actually passed on doing pilot season last year and will probably do the same thing this season. I've done enough sitcoms and would really like to sink my teeth into something new. But if an amazing television role came along I wouldn't say no! You've got to be open to everything."
BL: "A character based on a real person is definitely harder, especially if that person is on set and playing your stunt double! Actually, the real Courtney Enders is amazing and it was such a privilege to play her and become her friend...she totally rocks!"
BL: "I think my favorite story would be when we started the "classroom war". Alexa had a separate school room and it was all decorated. Ours had four white walls, so one night after Alexa left set we snuck into her room and took all her posters. We put everything up in our school room and then the antics of classroom wars began."
BL: "I had a sleepover Nintendo party, what else would a 15 year old do! lol! it was so fun. we set up all these different themed rooms. One room was a jungle for Donkey Konga, another was a racing room for Mario Kart Double Dash. We also dressed up like the characters...I was luigi and Sara was Mario. It was very fun"
BL: "Bam.....I love viva la bam and I'm planning to name my son Bam cause it is the coolest name!"
BL: "Uh......thanks for reading this whole thing, I hope it was entertaining enough! I really appreciate all the kind emails and support. I'm such a lucky girl!"
