Here are some auditions and events I went to for Acting and Modeling and some stories (of mine......and some links for you wanna-be actresses and models like me!)
I was on the bus one morning and I heard this ad for this thing for something called ITS. It talked about how you don't need to be pretty, skinny, or talented to be in "The buisness". Apparently, they were looking for "fresh faces" and "new talent" to show in this big event in Miami for a bunch of talent scouts. It sounded really cool to me, but I kinda blew it off. That weekend, I heard it again. It was talking about it again and this time it gave a website, itsauditions.com. It stated where it would be held, the time, the day.... So I couldn't help but write it down. Conicidentally, that was the day we got internet access at my house. So as soon as I could get on, I went on itsauditons.com and checked it out. It sounded so cool. I begged my parents to let me go to the audition that weekend and they agreed. They warned me many times that it could possibly be a scam, and they were'nt gonna pay an obnoxious amount of money to get me to go to this thing. They said they would pay a little amount for headshots and stuff, but nothing huge. So for the next week, my friend Pamela and I practiced for ITS by modeling, acting and singing. I asked her if she wanted to have a sleepover the day before it, and she said "No, I don't want to. You really suck at this, and you are just embarressing yourself. I don't want to be around you." Which was really b***** to do, since I was the one who told her about it! Either way, I was on my own. The next day, I spent the entire morning getting ready, warming up my voice, the works. Finally, it was time. I remember how nervous I was when I got there. I backed out on the singing, out of my mom's advice. They gave us little scripts and there was a mini-runway. I went first for modeling. I was really shaky, and sorta rolled my eyes when I reached the end. Which got a nice laugh from the HUGE audience! I didn't mean to seem b***** or anything, I just was so nervous, I had no control of what I was doing. I felt like a huge loser. Even more when Pamela went on with her Uggs and sparkly lips and "cute" smile. The scouts smiled at her like she was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Next came acting, my better field. I felt my loud clear voice come out, and my facial expressions. My mom said she was very impressed. Next Pamela came on. She compeletly copied me! changing expressions whenI did, but really sucked. You didn't really believe what she was saying. Lastly, singing. I waited in the back. I wanted to see if Pamela sounded good. She kept running to the back whenever it was supposed to be her turn, until she was the last one. She went up there and with a really creaky and shaky voice sang "Nobody's Perfect by Hannah Montana. Everyone was completely silent. There were some people in the back who were suppodely "getting into it" but it didn't really catch on. Then we left, me still feeling like a big HUGE loser. She said that she'd call everyone and there would be a 401 number calling. It also cost $3,000 dollars to go. My mom said she thought I was good, but just needed more practice. Soon, I was working on S.S. homework and my phone rang. There was a 401 area code. It said I MADE IT! I was so excited! But it turned out Pamela made it too! Her mom decieded to do it by paying the money, but my parents refused. I was so mad! They kept telling me that something better comes for people who wait. So Pamela got an coach for acting, singing, ana modeling. Yes, I was fuming when she tried to tell me this. So I told her to f*** off, well duh after what she said does she seriously think I'm her friend? Oh, do you think my story is over? Do you think Pamela got the last laugh. Well, yesterday I found out, no she did'nt. Something I did a long time ago seriously payed off.
