Tributes paid to Laura :

Mal Young (BBC Controller of Drama Series)
' Everyone at Holby City, and indeed, the BBC, are devastated by this news. Laura was a much loved, talented and respected actress. She brought so much to the role with her infectious enthusiasm, dedication and 100% professionalism. Television has lost a talent who had so much more to give.'

Verona Joseph (Holby's Jess Griffin)
'Laura was the true meaning of a lovely girl. I will always remember her smiling face and generous heart. It's such a sad, sad loss. We all miss her very very much. My heart goes out to her family. May she rest in peace.'

Patricia Potter (Holby's Diane Lloyd)
' Laura was such fun to be around and such a kind and sweet person. We will all miss her terribly.'

Mark Moraghan (Holby's Owen Davis)
'It was an honour to know and work with Laura. She was so talented, unassuming, selfless and un-starry. I will miss her very much as will everyone who knew her.'

Luisa Bradshaw-White (Holby's Lisa Fox)
'
Laura had such a warm heart, she was kind, loving, sincere and so loved by everyone at work. She totally underestimated her popularity. She was one of the most genuine people I have ever met and I will miss her greatly.'

Jeremy Edwards (Holby's Danny Shaughnessy)
'Everybody in the cast is completely devastated and is asking the same question, "Why her?" You couldn't meet a sweeter, nicer, more wonderful girl. She was the kindest person and even actor friends of mine who did just one episode with her are mortified. She was just the loveliest little thing.'

Tina Hobley (Holby's Chrissie Williams)
' If you knew Laura you were touched by something very special. She was warm, kind and gentle with a fantastic sense of humour and an infectious giggle. If heaven is full of angels, it now has the most beautiful angel of them all. I miss her terribly.'

Jan Pearson (Holby's Kath Fox)
'Laura Sadler was a very special 22 year old. She was an inspiration to me both personally and professionally. I shall miss her very much. All my thoughts are with her mother Sonja."

Hugh Quarshie (Holby's Ric Griffin)
'Laura's death has had a profound effect on all of us in the cast, the crew and production staff at Holby City. We carry on working, but it's not surprising to see the make-up artists trying to patch up red, weeping eyes; or mature veterans staring at the floor in sombre meditation between takes. It has become clear that each of us had formed a strong attachment to her, even and especially those who had just joined the company. It mattered to all of us how Laura turned out. I used to study her performances to try to figure out how she did it. She never looked like she was acting but was always completely believable, sincere, funny and affecting. She did the kind of acting I aspire to. I believe that she was on the way to becoming not just a popular actor but a great actor. More importantly, she was on the way to becoming a great and gorgeous human being. She was generous, guileless, compassionate, sensitive, intelligent and witty. Though she could be shy, she was also companionable: she was always good to be around. It was simultaneously endearing and exasperating that she never believed it when we told her what a good actor she was, or how attractive or interesting she was. She was perhaps too self-effacing, too modest; never wanted to make a fuss or be a nuisance. A certain amount of glamour attaches to Holby, but Laura seemed not to want to be a part of it. While we urged her to take her share of the limelight, it's true to say that we were protective of her too, because she sometimes seemed a little vulnerable and frail. There was no-one who would not have come running if Laura had asked for a favour or some advice or help. But she never asked. Now some of us are wondering whether we could have done more to shield and guide her. Perhaps we could have; but the greatest tribute we could pay to her as an actor and a young adult was to respect the choices that she made. I can only hope that she knows now just how deeply loved she was and how badly missed she is.'

Lorraine Heggessey (Controller of BBC1)
'Laura was a sweet, modest, hard working girl. I'm devastated that we have lost such a talented young actress. When I first met Laura on Grange Hill it was clear she had enormous potential.'

Elaine Sperber (Head of Drama CBBC)
'Laura was a brave and talented young actress who took on key roles in both Grange Hill and Belfry Witches and portrayed her characters with great energy and charm.'

Michele Milburn (Agent)
'She had a unique talent, and I am certain was only at the start of what would have been a brilliant career. However, her greatest gift, was her ability to bring out the best in all who were lucky enough to know her.'

Fiona Wade (Grange Hill actress)
'Laura was not a typical actress at all. She was not at all showbizzy and loud. She was such a lovely, humble girl, very sweet and an excellent friend.'

John Joseph (Grange Hill actor)
'Laura was the most, kind, warm, generous and decent person I've had the pleasure of working with. Thinking back I can't remember a time when she wasn't smiling. It's a loss not only to the acting world, but to the rest of the world as well. I speak for all the current cast and crew that knew Laura when I say, we will all miss her terribly and hope she is happy wherever she is.'
