sing yourself to where the singing comes from

Voices of Lecale - community folk choir

Voices of Lecale is a County Down folk choir which developed out of the Singers' Circle classes I started at Down Arts Centre 11 years ago. The choir was founded in May 2007 as a registered charity with the aim of singing for the joy of it. Our ethos is inclusive and our motto is 'If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk you can sing'. There are 28 of us now - click to hear us.

New CD 'Voyages' - launched on 7 October 2013!    This is our 3rd CD - an album of shanties and songs of the sea with our usual mix of trad tunes from The Pluckin' Squeezers. To hear some excerpts click here.    To buy a copy click here

Our 2nd CD 'Journeys' -world folk songs & instrumental music with special guest Tommy Sands launched on 14 March at Down Arts Centre. To order a copy using PayPal (£11.00 incl. p&p) just click on here to order or email me.

Our 1st CD' Welcome, Yule!'- carols, songs, poems & music for Christmas came out in 2008 and has sold out twice! We hope to make another Christmas CD or DVD in the not too distant future.
