Well, it has certainly been awhile since my last update. I was sidetracked by a passion I recently began to indulge in again. That passion is caving. I have not given up my novel by any means and I plan to put forth more energy into it again.

It's now 116 pages and nearly 30,500 words. Today a huge event has occured for my main character and I have to be careful not to let her become stifled by a part of herself. I can't really explain more than that for now. As long as I don't let it my creativity shall not fail me!

Last night I finally completed a chapter that I had been stuck on, yay! Total now there are 110 pages. I believe the word count is at around 20,000. I'll list the exact soon. At the moment I'm at my day job without access to my most current story draft!

I changed my font and spacing to be submission appropriate (even though I'm nowhere near ready for actual submission!) and, after writing a few pages today, now have 104 total, with about 27,000 words. If you're curious, it's now 12 pt Times New Roman double-spaced.
I made the decision a little over a week ago to continue on with the story and not completely revise the beginning until I have a complete manuscript in hand. As was suggested in my Writing the Genre Novel class (that has now sadly come to an end) it is usually better to get that first draft all out otherwise one might find themselves in a perpetual cycle of revision and never actual finish the original writing!
