Junior Varsity Letter:
To receive a JV Letter (a certificate), a student must remain active on the team for one year:
Attend 80% of practices, compete in at least 6 tournaments, and earn the minimum required points specified:
150 points for Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum Debaters
OR
125 points for Individual Events Debaters
Varsity Letter:
To receive a Varsity Letter (a certificate and a letter for a letter jacket), a student must remain active on the team for two years, attend 80% of practices, compete in at least 11 tournaments, contribute to the majority of our fundraisers, and earn the minimum required points specified:
300 points for Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum Debaters
OR
250 points for Individual Events Debaters
A student who fulfills the Lettering requirements for a third or fourth year is also awarded a certificate and a bar/insignia for the letter jacket.
Honor Cords:
To receive an honor cord (worn at graduation), a student must remain an active member of the team through his or her senior year, attend 80% of practices, compete in at least 24 tournaments cumulative, contribute to the majority of our fundraisers, and earn the minimum required points specified:
450 points for Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum Debaters
OR
375 points for Individual Events Debaters
All seniors receive diploma seals that indicate the NFL ranking they have acheived.
These requirements are NON NEGOTIABLE!
