DSLR-2 test shot and specifications
The DSLR-2 is made for full frame sensor DSLRs. It will have a fixed stereo base of 5.25 inches. It will produce images free from vignetting with lenses at 35mm and higher. Zoom lenses seem to require more mirror space, so the lowest FL is around 40mm for zooms. Also, the larger the lens diameter, the higher the FL needs to be to avoid vignetting. A zoom lens with a filter diameter of 77mm will work at 75mm FL without vignetting, whereas a 35mm fixed lens with a filter diameter of 52mm will work fine without vignetting. Here is a picture taken with a Canon 5D with a 35mm fixed lens. The 5.25 inch stereo base requires about 13 feet to the near point.
These units will be available November 1, 2008.
