Disclaimer:  I own no rights to either Magnificent Seven or Firefly.  I mean no infringement on those who do, and my only profit is hearing from a person or two (or three…) that they enjoyed my little musings.

Universe and Status:  I’ve named the universe “Wêixi n Shìjiè” or “Dangerous World”. The main characters of both series, along with a few Magnificent Seven and Firefly guest stars may appear here.  If you’re interested in writing in this AU, let me know!

 

Notes: 

 

• This is set in the Firefly Universe, an AU for Magnificent Seven.  In this AU, Vin, Ezra and JD are all three teenagers.  I haven’t really defined their ages, but I’m thinking something like:  JD (13), Vin (16) and Ezra (18).

 

• For those of you who haven’t seen Firefly, Mandarin Chinese is interspersed in their dialogue.  I’ve tried to mimic that, using a net reference that translates English words to Mandarin Chinese.  I have no idea if I have them right, but then I doubt most readers know Mandarin Chinese!  If you do, contact me, so you can help me next time!!  Not knowing the words shouldn’t detract from the story.  However if you’d like to see what the words mean, here is the link to the reverse translation page:

 AU Name:  Wêixi n Shìjiè (Dangerous World)

Children/Teens:  Vin, JD, Ezra

 Biographies 

Christopher Larabee:  Former member of the Independent Army during the war.  After the war settled down with his wife and son, Sarah and Adam.  After they were killed he threw himself into ranching.

 

Buck Wilmington:  Former member of the Independent Army, serving under Chris.  Roamed the universe for a time after the war, taking odd jobs, mostly mercenary.  Joined back up with Chris after his friend was widowed. 

 

Josiah Sanchez:  Former Shepard.  Came to work for Chris and Buck.  Josiah is the ramrod for the ranch, and makes certain that the boys have spiritual guidance.

 

Nathan Jackson:  Medic during the war, fought with the Independents.  Met Buck while they were both “freelancing” after the war and came to work at the ranch. 

 

Ezra Standish:  Enslaved by traders after surviving a Reaver attack on the planet Tiânzh’s Pingger along with Vin Tanner and JD Dunne.  Ezra was planetside to meet up with his mother.  He has no idea if she’s still alive or was caught in the attack.  Ezra is approximately 18.

 

Vin Tanner; Vin was already a slave in the town of Razorback when the Reavers’ attacked Tiânzh’s Pingger.  He had been orphaned after another Reaver attack on his home planet of Evenblue; his older sister sacrificed herself to help him escape.  Vin is approximately 16.

 

JD Dunne:  In the marketplace in Razorback with his pregnant mother when the attack took place.  Rescued by Vin Tanner.  They also met up with Ezra, the boys hid in a warren of tunnels under the marketplace until the Reavers left.  JD is approximately 13.
