WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!
In comparison to the aweful weather conditions we experienced at Gatton.
Today is Roxy's very last show as a Yearling!
We entered the Yearling Hunter In Hand and placed 2nd in a Quality line up of 5 Yearlings!
We then entered the Yearling Lungeline with some excellent competition and placed 1st!
And finally we entered the Yearling Led Trail, again alongside wonderful competition and placed 1st!
WELL DONE YET AGAIN YOU SWEET GIRL ROXY!
We are looking forward in giving you a short break before we get you all prepared for your ridden career!
WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SINCERELY THANK KATHY & RUBY JONES OF KULANGOOR QLD, FOR THEIR SUPPORT OVER THE SHOW SEASON.
WE CONGRATULATE YOU BOTH ON THE SUCCESS OF YOUR WONDERFUL FILLY ROXY (Rhinestone Just A Dusty)!
YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD - SHE IS TRUELY AN OUTSTANDING SHOW HORSE!
We will look forward in seeing what she is awarded this 2006/2007 show season with the Paint Horse Association of Australia for her many, many successful outings!
On Saturday, 28th July 2007, Roxy competed at the Gatton QH & Western Performance Horse Club WINTER SPECTACULAR Show at the Gatton Equestrian Centre.
The weather conditions for the day was absolutely AWEFUL! The wind was blowing so badly that you almost needed swimming goggles on to see where you were walking. Many, Many horses were spooking all over the place and I was glad that Roxy and I only had 2 events to compete in and then go home.
Roxy entered the Yearling Lungeline and was placed 1st!
Roxy then entered the Yearling Led Trail and was placed 2nd!
GOOD ON YA ROXY!
RHINESTONE JUST A DUSTY (aka Roxy) and RHINESTONE TUNZA CASH (aka Patches), were both entered at the 2007 QLD STATE PAINT HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW.
ROXY's events were Yearling Lungeline, Yearling Led Trail and Open Hunter In Hand mare/filly.
PATCHES events were the Weanling Paint Gelding Halter and the Open Hunter in hand gelding.
BOTH HORSES DID OUTSTANDINGLY!
In the Yearling Lungeline Class, after all of the horses competed their individually, the American Judge came up to us and made personal comments to us about our horses, one by one.
She started firstly by pointing to Gaye-ann and Roxy, and commented that 'Your horse is really well broke already', 'very sweet and will go on to be a lovely riding horse'. She went on to all the other horses, and generally said the class was very close and was a job well done by all.
We were very appreciative of her comments to us and as were all the other competitors.
Roxy placed 3rd in the Yearling Lungeline, and we were happy with how she worked and how close the competition was.
We then went immediately into the Yearling Led Trail class.
In the Yearling Led Trail class, Roxy was having a FANTASTIC run, until we got to the lope over 2 poles opposite each other, 1.5 circles. She tried really hard to, but didn't quite get the softness that she usually displays, and I let her out on the lead too long and she actually missed one of the logs.....oopps....
The rest of her workout was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY!
Roxy was awarded the 2007 QLD STATE PAINT HORSE RESERVE CHAMPION YEARLING LED TRAIL HORSE, in again the same fine line up of Quality horses.
WHAT A CHAMPION SHE IS!!!!
Below is a pic of Roxy and her Trainer - Gaye-ann Robson, after her FANTASTIC WIN!
RHINESTONE TUNZA CASH
(aka Patches)
Patches did us proud, as this show was his 3rd EVER in his life, and what AN ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART he was!
He entered the Weanling Paint Gelding class, and was awarded the 2007 QLD STATE PAINT CHAMPIONSHIPS RESERVE CHAMPION!
WELL DONE PATCHES!
He then went on to the OPEN Hunter in Hand Gelding class in a Very Classy line up of Geldings.
He was the ONLY weanling to enter this event and this was the First Time EVER he had competed in this event, and went around simply ADORABLELY!
SUCH A PRETTY DAMN CUTE BOY HE IS - commented the judge after the event.
He placed 6th in a line up of 11 Older and much more experienced horses.
We were VERY PROUD of him.
Below is a pic of Patches after being awarded Reserve Champion Weanling Paint Gelding.
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO KATHY & RUBY JONES ON THE SUCCESS OF THEIR WONDERFUL HORSES!
On Thursday 19th July 2007 at the SEQPHC PAINT-O-RAMA under 3 Judges, Roxy & Gaye-ann entered the Yearling Lungeline & Yearling Led Trail classes.
ALL of the lungeline horses were GREAT and the competition was fantastic!
R placed 1 x 2nd and 2 x 3rds under all 3 judges in the Yearling Lungeline.
In the Yearling Led Trail class, Roxy BLEW THEM ALL AWAY, with an OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!
She WON and placed 1st under ALL 3 JUDGES!!!! YEEEHHAAARR!!! WAY TO GO ROXY!!!
On Friday the 20th July 2007, she went in the OPEN Hunter in Hand mare/filly class and boy, what a line up! 15 Quality horses in total in this event.
Roxy went out and did a real sweet run. She placed 5th and 7th in the open class of 15 horses. We were happy with the result as it was a real tuff event. ALL of the horses were fantastic!
On Sunday 8th July 2007, the South Burnett Western Performance Horse Club held their Triple Judge Show.
It was a Fantastic day, with a Fantastic line up of horse, and mostly Paint Horses at that!
The Lovely filly 'Roxy' (RHINESTONE JUST A DUSTY) was entered in a number of classes, to compete for the end of day High Point Yearling Awards.
First Roxy entered the Yearling Paint Filly class and was placed 1 x 1st and 2 x 2nd's under 3 judges (in a line up of 4).
She then entered the Yearling Lungeline class in a line up of 3 in the class and was placed 1st under one judge and 2 x 2nd's under the other 2 judges. Roxy went beautifully, and after the event MANY came up to us and commented that we were unjustly done by and should have won under all three judges.
But myself personally, apart from obviously know this, I was simply thrilled that Roxy went so well, as she always does.
Roxy then was entered in the OPEN Hunter In Hand class, where she placed 1st under one judge, 2nd under another judge and 3rd under another judge in a line up of 7 in the class. We were very happy again with her result here.
And lastly, Roxy was entered in the Yearling Lungeline. She did the most smoothest and sweetest pattern, and justifiably WON 1st place under ALL 3 judges!
At the end of a very long and cold windy day, Roxy was AWARDED HIGH POINT YEARLING under ALL 3 JUDGES for the day!
WELL DONE ONCE AGAIN TO A WONDERFUL FILLY - 'ROXY' AND CONGRATULATIONS TO ROXY'S OWNERS KATHY & RUBY FOR HER SUCCESS ON THIS DAY!
RHINESTONE TUNZA CASH
aka 'PATCHES'
This day was also a 'FIRST TIME OUT' show for the Very Pretty Weanling Gelding
RHINESTONE TUNZA CASH - aka 'Patches'.
Patches was entered in the Weanling Paint Gelding class, of which he was placed 2nd under all 3 judges (behind a Lovely Massive Loots Image gelding).
He did a wonderful workout for his first time out, and stood like a pro, we were very proud of him!
CONGRATULATIONS to Patches owners Kathy & Ruby Jones for a Lovely First-time run for their little man.
PATCHES is also for sale (at a FANTASTIC price), so if you want to see any details on him, go to our For Sale page for more information.
Patches is nominated for the QLD State Paint Championships and Paint-O-Rama.
On Saturday 30th June 2007, Gaye-ann & Roxy entered the Yearling Lungeline & Yearling Led Trail Class at the Gatton Quarter Horse Clubs Pre-State Quarter Horse Show.
Under the Very Experienced Judge Shane Massingham, Roxy WON the Yearling Lunge line. He commented that she had a Lovely, Smooth run.
In the Yearling Led Trail, Roxy also WON and the judge was VERY IMPRESSED commenting on how 'NEAT' & 'TIDY' she performed all the obstacles, giving her +1 & +.5 points per obstacle (in show terms this is very good!).
So yet another successful day for our Lovely Roxy. Congrats to Roxy's owners for the success with her on this day. She is a Truely Wonderful Filly.
ROXY GIVES THEM A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY IN N.S.W!
She was entered in the Yearling Led Trail on the Friday Paint-O-Rama Triple Judge Show.
There were 6 nominated for the event, but only 3 competeing (Roxy included).
We followed Jeffrey Hall & his lovely filly Foxy Morn in this class, as he had 2 horses to run through, and Roxy and I did a real sweet workout.
UNFORTUNATELY, due to US ALL going 'off pattern' in this event, NO PLACINGS were awarded, however when I asked to inspect the score sheets on this event, it was evident that we would have won if we hadn't had gone off pattern along side our fellow competitor.
The next day we had the Yearling Lunge line event, where there were again 6 nominated for the event.
Roxy's Performance was 'SWEET & SMOOTH AS' however the first place getter Mr Neville Jones with the Stunning Black/White Paint Colt Territory Cowboy had the upper edge on us.
Neville & Territory Cowboy placed 1st under all judges and Roxy placed 2nd under 2 judges and 3rd under the 3rd judge.
A TRUELY WONDERFUL RUN FOR A LOVELY FILLY TO BE ALONG SIDE THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CHAMPION IN THIS EVENT!
Roxy then went in the Paint Filly/Mare Hunter In Hand event and placed 3rd in a line up of 8.
On Monday 11th June the North Coast Western Riders Club held their Triple Judge Show.
Roxy was entered in the OPEN Hunter in Hand event and placed 4th & 6th in a line up of 18!
She then entered the Yearling Lungeline and Yearling Led Trail.
In the Yearling Lungeline, she & Neville Jone's lovely colt were the ONLY 2 horses to complete the event in under time and do this by performing each required gaits in both directions of a circle.
Roxy's Run was Super Soft and Sweet. However, she did not do as well as she rightfully deserved. She only placed 3rd in a line up of 7.
I was actually even asked by a NCWRC official if I wanted to lodge a dispute, but Roxy's owner and I both knew the filly deserved to place much better than she did and to us that was all that mattered. IMO, Unfortunately, there are some judges who are unfamiliar with these yearling classes and of the requirements of the class and unfortuately yearlings like Roxy will pay the price with their decisions.
One of the competitor's who had placed higher than Roxy was even heard saying that he did not deserve to get the placing he did. And an example of the other competitors horses performances include another competitor who placed over Roxy was not even able to get her horse to lunge a lope without cracking her whip on it's butt to try and get it to move - unsuccessfully..lol
But, NOT TO WORRY - Myself and a GOOD NUMBER of spectators witnessed the event and all believed she was Definately Ripped Off.
Softly, Willlingly and Kindly with lovely headset, Roxy walked, jogged and loped either direction and stopped.
All under the 90 seconds of time that is allowed to do so.
I must say though, Congratulations to Neville Jones with Territory Cowboy, who Rightfully Deserved to win the event - his lovely colt worked wonderfully.
Roxy and I then went on to compete in the Yearling Led Trail Class in another large line up.
Neville Jones & Territory Cowboy, again had the slight upper edge on us and won the event under all 3 judges.
Roxy and I were nipping at his heels and placed a very close 2nd under all 3 judges!
Roxy and I then went on to compete in the Open Hunter in Hand... and WOW what a class. In fact there were 18 horses in this event! UNREAL!
Roxy and I placed 4th and 6th and couldn't be happier with these results.
WHAT AN AWESOME WEEKEND OF SHOWING, ALONG SIDE SOME OF AUSTRALIA'S FINEST HORSES, COMPETITORS AND TRAINERS!
And for those who don't already know, Neville Jones & Territory Cowboy are the 2007 Australian National Champions at Yearling Lungeline, so it was AWESOME to know that our Roxy was nipping his and other National Champion & place getters heals with ease, with her Fantastic Performances all weekend.
I AM VERY, VERY PROUD OF ROXY AND OF HER PERFORMANCES OVER THE WEEKEND!
I WANT TO THANK KATHY & RUBY JONES - ROXY'S OWNERS - FOR THEIR WONDERFUL HELP & SUPPORT OVER THE WEEKEND AND FOR ALLOWING ME TO SHOW THEIR WONDERFUL FILLY!
IT WAS FANTASTIC!
Below is a pic of Roxy in the Lungeline class.
Roxy was entered in the Yearling Lungeline and Yearling Led Trail as well as the Open Hunter in Hand.
Again she did proud and placed 3rd in the Open Hunter In Hand, 1st in the Yearling Lungeline and 1st in the Yearling Led Trail.
GO ROXY GO - WHAT A FILLY - WAY TO GO!
***WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY***

'ROXY'
Roxy entered the Yearling Futurity (of which there were 20ish yearlings in the class... wow), and unfortuately didn't place in the top 6. (Actually the only Western Bred Horse that even placed in this class was a QH mare who placed 6th, the rest were Arabs, TB's, Warmbloods etc.. but it was being judges by 'english judges' so as Western competitors we do understand why.....
Roxy was nominated in the overall Best Marked Overo Paint Horse of all ages, and in a line up of 12 placed 4th - Great Placing for a Lovely Filly!
She then went in the Paint Filly 1yrs & under 2 and WON the class!

ROXY and Gaye-ann waited ever so patiently in a EXTREMELY HOT day, awating for their Yearling Lungeline class.
We were placed 2nd in a line up of 4 - A nice result considering the conditions - we were all hot and bothered!
As Gaye-ann & Roxy were waiting for the Yearling Led Trail, Gaye-ann had a phone call from home where she was required to leave the show due to family committments, so she was unable to compete in her trail class, but not to worry there will be plenty more to come!

DIVA... DOES IT WELL AGAINST THE BIG KIDS!!!!
On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th March 2007 at the Gunalda Western Performance Horse Club 'A' class QH show Diva did Wonderfully!
On Saturday she was placed 2nd in the QH yearling and under class and on Sunday she was also placed 2nd in the QH yearling and under class. Keeping in mind the horses she was up against were yearlings/rising 2yr olds and very big young girls indeed in comparison to her - being only 5mths of age - so we were Very, Very Proud of her - she showed Beautifully - as she always does - and developed a 'fan club' during the show on how wonderfully natured she is.
WELL DONE DIVA! And many thanks to Diva's owner Hiedi for being such a wonderful help during the show on both days!

RHINESTONE JUST A DUSTY
'ROXY'
Lovely Roxy worked beautifully in the Yearling Lungeline and Yearling Led Trail.
She placed 2nd in the Lungeline (behind Wrangler) in a line up of 5 - and could have performed better if she wasn't so distracted with what was going on out of the arena - read below.
And in the Yearling Led Trail, she worked the Very Large (it took up the whole indoor arena at Gatton), and 'maze like pattern' Perfectly, however Gaye-ann 'got lost' through one obstacle (Roxy still did it perfect), and continued on to finish the pattern as written, but in AQHA rules by doing one obstacle wrong is classed an 'off pattern' resulting in no placing. The judge told Gaye-ann that if she hadn't have made the mistake in that one obstacle, Roxy would have won.
Not to worry, Roxy performed awesomely nethertheless and we were so proud of her!
DUAL CAANTENDER
'WRANGLER'
The big 'red head' worked well in the Yearling Lungeline and won it in a line up of 5 - not bad considering the aweful outside distractions we had to endure during the class - there were over 300 semi-trucks driving past all hooting their horns and being very loud and quite annoying - we could hardly hear our own thoughts little alone get our horses to think about theirs, but Wrangler kept it together and did very well.
He then went on and placed 2nd in the Yearling Led Trail.
We were quite proud that in the Yearling Lungeline classes that the 1st and 2nd placed horses were trained and presented by Gaye-ann Robson and the 3rd place horse was presented by his owner, but is also getting lessons from Gaye-ann.
3 outa 5 horses in the Top 3 placings is FANTASTIC!
'DIVA' DOES IT AGAIN!!
On Sunday 11-02-07 at the Burpengary Western Performance Horse Club 'A' class Quarter Horse Show, DIVA strutted her stuff yet again in the halter ring and WON the ALLBREED WEANLING JACKPOT FUTURITY!!!
She then went on and WON the Quarter Horse Weanling Filly Class (and was a sniff away from being awarded Reserve Champion QH filly/mare acording to the judge - Sue Farrell).
Diva also WON the Colourama Filly/Mare Class and then on and was awarded OVERALL CHAMPION Colourama horse!
WOW what an OUTSTANDING result for this OUTSTANDING filly!
CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN DIVA and to her owners Mark & Hiedi Hope!!
'ROXY' ROCKS!!!!
On Sunday 11-02-07 at the Burpengary Western Performance Horse Club 'A' class Quarter Horse Show, ROXY WON the Paint Yearling filly class and then on to be awarded RESERVE CHAMPION Paint filly/mare of the show under judge Sue Farrell.
She then 'Rocked The House' with a SUPERB performance in the Yearling Lungeline and Yearling Led Trail - where she WON both events! - under judge Anert Kerslake.
We then packed up and went to the Caboolture Show Grounds, where the Sth East Qld Paint Horse Club were holding a Triple Judge Show with judges - Linda Gray, Debbie Lindenburg and Virginia Perry.
ROXY continued to shine, IMPRESSING ALL 3 JUDGES with her Wonderful Performances in the Yearling Lungeline and Yearling Led Trail - where she again WON both events!!
