Here's a little "tribute page" of some of our personal musical influences.
Nate: "I like a lot of different sounds; therefore, I like a lot of different styles. Mood swings hit me hard when it comes to music--I can go from listening to Southern-flavored, rocked-out guitar licks to serene classical piano sonatas. Here's a list of my all-time favorites: Newsboys, Third Day, Dallas Holm, Switchfoot, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, Gary Chapman, Steven Curtis Chapman, Petra, Casting Crowns, Kutless, Rebecca St. James, Keith Green, Phil Keaggy, Christopher Parkening, Chet Atkins, Doyle Dykes, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, John Williams, Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, B.B. King, The Eagles, Billy F. Gibbons, The Allman Brothers Band, Buddy Guy, Bryan Adams, Harold Faltermeyer, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, Kenny G...to name a few. A while back, I attended a live video shoot of The Collingsworth Family and became a fan of their music. They have been friends of my family for years and possess such great God-given musical abilities. Quality musicianship is one of my passions!"
Leslie: I love Josh Groban. That's pretty much all you need to know. Josh Groban. His voice is absolutely amazing. And if I were stranded on a desert island and could have one CD to listen to, it would be one of his. Any one. I couldn't choose a favorite. That's how good he is. I love Rachmaninoff, too. I also love Celtic music. Gaelic Storm is (in my mind) one of the world's greatest bands. I love everything from the fast numbers that make you want to dance around like Michael Flatley on Mountain Dew to the slow songs with the lyrics that make you want to cry. I listen to soundtracks (John Williams and James Horner are my favorites) and I love Broadway musicals, Wicked being my newest obsession. Kristin Chenoweth is absolutely out of this world, and it would be a dream come true if I were ever able to sing her "Ode to Joy" for church. And I love Andrew Lloyd Webber's music and the singers who have been in his shows-- all of them! I share most of my bandmates' love for Keith Urban, and also greatly enjoy listening to the deep-voiced delight that is Josh Turner-- and someday, I hope, we WILL do one of his songs for a special (please, guys?) ! And, yes, I am one of the proud few who love Disney songs, from Mary Poppins to Beauty and the Beast. And Josh Groban. Did I mention I love Josh Groban?
