Here's a list of some of the things that we've all learned while creating musical fusion:
1. It doesn't matter how well you can perform your band's song by yourself along with a recording--if you can't blend your section of the song with what the rest of the band is doing, the overall sound of the band will suffer tremendously.
2. If you mess up, grin really big and keep on going. If you have to wait for a couple of seconds to catch up, rely on the rest of the band to cover for you and then jump right back in ASAP.
3. Don't view the elements of music as tasks to be completed--look at them as opportunites to praise the Lord and chances to create memories with your fellow bandmates.
4. There will be times in which band members disagree on certain issues. Don't let these times cause dissension among the group...work through them together and seek to attain a unified outlook on the general well-being of the band.
5. Above everything else, put Christ first. Commit all things to Him, and seek His will. Consider every performance to be an outreach tool...even if just a tiny seed is planted in one person's life, the band has accomplished its job.
