Summary: Based on Beowulf a short story from Wealhtheow's point of view set before Beowulf's arrival and Grendel's massacre. Wealhtheow prepares for the negotiation of her daughter's heiman fylgia, bride price with the Heatho-Bards. Her thoughts constantly stray to the present, past, and the necessity of marriage.
Summer When We Were 15
Summary: A woman looks back on the friendship she had with her best friend when they were younger and how, and why, their friendship was broken.
Letting Go
Summary: An up and coming writer, Kendra looks back on the reason why her and her brother Dom grew up apart and the secrets between them during the course of a day trip to their old, childhood home.
The Mirror
Summary: A man escapes from life in the country only to wind up in another small town, Keesberry. However, his friendship with an enigmatic woman exposes an unsettling truth about how thin the boundary between reality and the mind really is. *note* Please do not remind me that I spelled Joseph Smith's name wrong. It is intentionally spelled as John Smith.

Summary: A teenage girl considers stealing a piece of gum for her initiation in to a high school clique. Discovers instead that some things aren't worth the price paid for them.

Summary: A girl's thoughts on student council elections, race relations, and death in high school.
Fairy Ring
Summary: A homeless couple struggle to find happiness in the city, one of them through relying on her street smarts the other on his belief in the existence of fairies.
Give Me a Reason
Summary: A woman searches for evidence of her boyfriend's infidelity. However, it is what she doesn't find more than what she does find that shocks her.
No Man's Land
Summary: A man struggles with writer's block and wonders why he can't write like he did when he was a boy, when the imagination knew no limits, there were no deadlines, and before reality destroyed his dreams.
The Angel and the Doll
Summary: A very special Christmas release: A woman wonders about life after a divorce as her father tells the tale of an impossible love between an Angel and a Doll. A story about living again and learning to love.
In the Service of Mr. Woodsworth
Summary: I wrote this for my Advanced English Lit class in high school. My teacher enjoyed it and said "I am a talented writer." I'll let you be the judge of that. Anyway, this is about a woman named Willy Wilma William (Yes, extremely dumb name. Wrote it on purpose). One dreary evening, in the town of Dreary, a mysterious visitor pays her and her rich master a visit. With only golf gloves, a beaten brown trench coat, and a pervy smile, can Mr. Woodsworth simultaneously woo Willy and defeat the mystery of the missing Duke's diamond egg?

First Night, Last Night
Summary:This one was for a contest that DMP Publishing had in summer of 08 or 09. I haven't gotten a reply, so I'm posting it. It's not like I signed a contest with them. Anyway:
"Where...Are... We?"
"Hell."
I looked up at him, expecting him to be joking. Words dieing on my lips as he grinned down at me.
Red eyes. I was reflected in them. Drowning in them.
I shook my head, clearing my mind. "Who are you?"
"Who do you think I am? What do you remember?"
"You. Trying to--"
"--Kill you. Yes. You were meant as a victim. My first meal for the night. No one to miss you--"
"--I have family!--"
"--No one of importance. Practically invisible. Living a life on other's terms. A puppet of a girl with no real mind of her own."
I hushed at this. His words echoing in my heart. I knew on some level that it wasn't true. But on another level...
It was all true.
"What...Are you?"
"A vampire."
