In The Beginning...
The purpose of my breeding program is to produce consistently high quality in structure, health, typiness, and temperament. We got our start in the breed with a girl of pet quality, who will always be remembered fondly. Chibi taught me a lot about the breed in general, and inspired me to look into the world of showing Chihuahuas.
Thank You For My Start In Chihuahuas...
There are several breeders I wish to thank for giving me a solid start in the breed. They are Millie F. Williams of Will O' Wisp Chihuahuas, Wash., Jerry and Shigeko Kane, Kane's Chihuahuas, Hawaii, but lately retired to Florida, and lastly Jean Day of Sundowner Chihuahuas of England.
First, I wish to thank Millie for her advice, support, and friendship throughout these past years. Will O'Wisp Pink Pixie Lamaki, 'Pixie' produced a Group I winner, Jake, Ch. Lamaki Lil Lightning Bolt, and 1/2 brother, Squeaks, Ch. Lamaki Lil Still Night. Pixie was first bred to Ch. Ouachitah Masquerade, Raider, litter brother to Ch. Ouachitah Bravissimo (both in the Chihuahua Club of America 1996 Handbook), and sired Jake, then a second breeding with Raider's son, Rex, Ch. Kane's Sound Charge-L, produced Squeaks.
Thank you to the Kane's, Jerry and Shigeko for befriending me and allowing me to breed Pixie to Raider and Rex.
Thank you also to Mrs. Jean Day of England for sending me Breeze, AKC Ch. Sundowner Cool Breeze. Breeze has passed on her typiness, stamina and attitude to her offspring.
Thank you to Millie, Jerry and Shigeko, and Jean for giving me a wonderful and solid beginning. I am very grateful to all of you. I hope to enjoy many years of breeding and showing the same quality of Chihuahuas that you have passed on to me.
Excitement of Showing...
Jake, Ch. Lamaki Lil Lightning Bolt, my first home-bred Champion, was awarded by the Ilio Magazine in Hawaii, Top Long Coat Chihuahua and No. 10 Toy Dog for 2002. In limited showing, Jake won a Group IV and a Group I. Also, I've finished or helped finish 5 Chihuahuas to their AKC Championships to date.
