The Lakeville Service Unit is part of the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys. There are over 800 registered Girl Scouts and 300 volunteers in our area!
We deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Program to girls attending All Saints, Cherry View, Eastview, Orchard Hills, JFK, Lake Marion, Lakeview, Christina Huddleston, Oak Hills and Crystal Lake Elementary schools. In addition, we serve Century, Kenwood and McGuire Middle schools as well as both Lakeville High Schools.
We are a very active service unit, averaging at least one service unit event per month. Some of which include, He/Me adventures, the annual Cookie Dance, Night of the Dancing Karaoke Queens and many more! Our activities extend out to the local community, by providing services to those in need, participating in local parades, community clean-up days, a year-long service project and Operation Christmas Child!
Please see the Fall Product Page for important details and deadlines!
River Valleys Girl Scouts will be reaching out to their friends and family during a two-week period, Oct. 3-17, for the Fall Product Program. Friends and family members can support their Girl Scout by purchasing high quality nut/chocolate items as well as magazine subscriptions and renewals. The Fall Product Program is a council-approved troop money earning activity that helps troops earn money for fall activities, including council-sponsored program events and community service projects. Juliettes participating in the Fall Product Program will receive Juliette proceed credits in lieu of troop proceeds. Financial Aid
Girl Scouts works to ensure that all girls—girls of diverse cultures and economic backgrounds, as well as girls with all levels of physical, cognitive and mental abilities—can participate, achieve their best, and have fun through Girl Scouting. This is achieved through community partnerships and Grants for Girls, a financial assistance program that ensures all girls have access to Girl Scouting who would not otherwise be able to afford Girl Scout activities.
Everything Cool About Being a Girl - Girls in grades K - 12, with their troops and/or parents/guardians, from across our council will come together and celebrate everything cool about being a Girl (Scout), and learn while having fun. The response to this exciting all-girl festival has been tremendous—exceeding our expectations. To accommodate all girls interested in participating, Girl Fest 2010 has been moved to November 2010.
