Welcome...

SOAP, the Supporters of Apponequet Players, was founded in April, 2006. Our mission is to help the theatre program at Apponequet Regional High School grow and prosper in whatever ways we can. Some of our projects have included providing costumes and props, raising funds, selling refreshments during intermission, compiling the programs, and other technical and behind-the-scenes activities. We also offer two $500.00 scholarships annually to graduating seniors.

Membership in SOAP is free, and is open to anyone who has an interest in Apponequet's productions. Alumni, parents, current students, teachers, and members of the community have all been involved at one time or another. The only commitment you have to make is to take part, however you can.

Apponequet Regional High School opened September 21, 1959. It presently serves as the academic high school for students in grades 9 through 12 from Assonet, East Freetown, and Lakeville, Massachusetts.

According to available records, the first play produced at Apponequet was Arsenic and Old Lace in 1960. As part of the school's 50th anniversary, the 2009 fall play will also be Arsenic and Old Lace.
