On the complex, a large number of wild birds have been sighted and the Nature Reserve at Leighton Moss is only minutes away.

Bring your canoe, dingy, fishing rod etc.; you are welcome on the lake. You may Jet Ski, Water Ski and Wind Surf on an adjoining Lake.

On site, we have the ‘Health and Leisure Club,’ with indoor pool, sauna, solarium and gym. At the end of the day, ‘The Water’s Edge’ Restaurant offers a mixture of Mediterranean-style cuisine and classic English dishes. Specialties include fish, seafood and steak. We also have a superb Tapas Bar, serving jugs of Sangria, Spanish and continental-style meals, or just relax in the pub.

Scuba diving is available at Capenwray Quarry, a few miles along Borwick Lane.

Pot holing, caving and waterfalls are to be found at Ingleton, a thirty minute drive through lovely countryside, which includes the historic Kirby Lonsdale and Devil’s Bridge. You may continue to Hawes and Dent, taking in the beautiful Dales Villages.

You may hire a Day Boat in Carnforth and explore the lovely Lancaster Canal, going over the famous Lune Aqueduct and continuing onwards, to see the lovely port of Glasson Dock [opened in 1787]. It is also possible cycle from the Lodge, along the Canal or the Cycle Route to Lancaster, which joins the Millennium Trail and the Coastal Way.
