I'm so glad you stopped by!
Whether you're looking for a contemporary gown at a 'budget' price, are looking for a seamstress to create the dream gown you've designed, want Grandmother's or perhaps Great-Grandmother's gown recreated or maybe you've dreamed of a period wedding like ante-bellum or Victorian, Renassiance or the "50's", Oak Holler is the place to look.
I have over 45 years sewing experience and have been specializing in wedding gowns, sold "online" for the past 4+ years. I'd love to work with your to help create your "dream gown".
I work within your budget, not all brides have thousands to spend on their gown. I use the colors and fabrics you want and if you have no preference, the fabrics that fit your budget. All the fabric I use are first quality bridal fabrics but the price per yard of these fabrics has such a wide range that any budget can be accomadated. Be assured, lower budget DOES NOT mean lower quality. I make all gowns the same way regardless of price.
How can I make them "long distance"? Well, we begin with what you're looking for, style, color, etc and your budget. I send you pictures of the gowns I have in the style you want and that can be made for your budget amount. You choose the one you want. I will provide you with a list of any options available for that gown. If you have a picture of the gown you'd like, you send that to me and I'll recreate it as close as possible.
Next, I compute the cost of your gown, including all materials and labor. I email that to you for approval and if you're happy with it, you send me a completed order form, 40% of the total as a deposit and a completed measurements form. I will send you this form particularily noting any measurements imperative to completing your gown. I will then set one of my dress forms to your measurements and make the gown to that. This eliminate fittings that add to the price of your gown.
If you would like, I can make a "mock" gown, that is, your gown made of muslin, send it to you to try on and note any changes that might be needed. If I'm given accurate measurements, alterations will not be needed. If any should be, I will do them at no charge except for design changes. Design changes do carry a fee.
There is no obligation to see pictures and get a price for the gown you're looking for.
As a "Thank you" for purchasing from me, I offer a FREE veil and headpiece with each wedding gown. I will send you pictures of the veils and of the headpieces I have available. You choose the style and length the veil and the headpiece you like. The headpiece will be covered in the same fabric/trims as your gown so it's a perfect match.
The only additional charge will be S&H. That will be computed once the gown can be weighed to determine accurate shipping costs. The balance of the price and S&H must be paid in full before shipping.
I also make Bridesmaids' dresses, Flower Girl Dresses and Mother's Dresses as well as Men's clothing for period weddings, i.e., pre 1960. Again, you choose the style, color or colors and fabrics. All other procedures are the same as the wedding gown.
I accept money order, cashier's checks and personal checks tho the last must clear before shipment is made. I also accept payments via PayPal, including credit cards. NOTE: PayPal is the ONLY way I can accept credit card payments at this time.
Of course, I'm happy to answer any and all questions you may have.
One addition, as a convience for one of my clients a few years ago, I started making wedding flowers, bouquets, boutonnaires, crosages, ect of silk flowers. I'm happy to send pictures and estimates if you're interested in this service.
If I did this right, (just in case, the URL is below) the link on the left "GOWNS" will take you to a page of some of the gowns I've including those currently available for immediate sale. In between orders, I like to make so of the gowns I like. I plan to add to these as I can. Those plans include a gown from the Civil War ear, a Victorian and an Edwardian gown. I will be happy to send you more pictures of these gowns and of bridesmaids dresses I've made and references. Request them by using the email link to the right.
Watch for more photo pages to come.
