Here is my latest scroll based on Folio f 51 which is located at the The Digital Scriptorium (MS Typ 252). I loved the illusiontic border. I am really pleased with this one. Oh, I still have lots to learn, like working on my cross hatching but I am still please with it. You can see how artist were begining to play with light and shadow to create relief. [I did have some issues with the calligraphy and spacing. giggle - I always have issues with calligraphy!

This was a late notice scroll that went to a friend. She loves Peacocks, I had no idea it was for her until after I finished the illumination. It is based on the Sforza hours.
This was 1st A&S entry in a long time, The judges were very kind to me. I scored a 40 out of 45, plus it was selected to go the big A&S competion at Gulf War!
I am pretty happy. Yes, there are many miskates but it is all part of the learning process. I used Cennini's under painting technique. The flesh turned out great. The green underpainting really cools the pinks for a more natural flesh tone. I am transfering it to vellum with period pigments for Gulf War.

Sorry about the bad photos on these next two. They were both last mintue requests. This one is based on a page from the Mira calligraphiae monumenta. I used faux gold leaf in order to pratice the applying leaf to a page. I made the gliding from gum arabic disloved in water with a little honey added. Faux leaf handles differenty from the real deal. I perfer real gold leaf - but that would be expensive.

I only did the calligraphy on this one. My good friend and now house sister Lady Lylie Dendelyoun (our husbands are belted to Count Sir Thorstenn) did the illumination. She loves the book arts as much as I do.
