We tried the Wild Mushroom Soup - "gorgeous", the mussels - "perfect", the pork & pheasant rillettes "interesting - in a good way", the mackerel - "very nice", the grey mullet - "delicious and not over-cooked", the belly pork - "well balanced and well presented" and the sausage and mash - "absolutely gorgeous". All in all, we were very happy with the food. The bread "could have been more interesting" but it was "very good and very fresh" and the butter got top marks.
We didn't try any of the side dishes and were too full to try the puddings. We were impressed with the choice available for the free glass of wine about 3 or 4 reds and whites to choose from. The Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc are recommended.
Front of House and service were excellent and the surroundings are airy and comfortable. The ladies loo is clean, spacious and well equiped. The only problem we identified was with disabled access as the Restaurant is on the first floor with no lift and with additional steps to reach the loos.
Overall, Ladies Wot Lunch had a great time at The Larder followed by shopping fun and happy hour cocktails at various venues later on.
