Taken from a Chinese National television broadcast in 1974, this shows Lu Yan performing Emei Daggers during the first Wushu tour to America.
This was the same tour where she performed Chang Quan for President Nixon on the White House lawns.

Taken from the same Wushu Delegation tour of America and Mexico, this snippet shows Lu Yan perform a Gun duilian with Li Lianjie and Cai Yahui. This shows the skills that the youngsters had, even at such an early age.

A big thank you goes to Raffi from beijingwushuteam.com for letting us use this snippet. This was the first year that Lu Yan, Hao Zhihua and Hui Xuna competed with this Duilian. They competed the same routine in later National Competitions and won Gold medals three times.
This video unfortunately suffers from a bit of colour shift. Lu Yan is in the middle of the three of them when they start the performance.

In 1983 a series of Wushu instructional videos were filmed in Beijing. These included members of the first generation of the Beijing Wushu Team, with Lu Yan performing her Gun shu routine. A small snippet of her taolu is provided here.

At the beginning of the 80s the most renowned Wushu practitioners in China were asked to perform in a new video showcasing the variety of Chinese Wushu styles. Lu Yan performed various group set pieces for this video, and also performed her Championship winning San Jie Gun taolu.

For three years Lu Yan, Hui Xuna and Hao Zhihua won the Chinese National Dui Lian Gold medal. This movie, taken from the same video as the previous San Jie Gun movie, shows these three in action.

Performing in a video called 'Dragons of the Orient', Lu Yan shows her Gun Shu. For the trivia fans out there, the ground in the video may look like a Wushu carpet, but in fact it is the cover over a swimming pool!
