Meet The Filley NE Feedlot Rescues-Rescued 3/20/07 and Ongoing
MEET DELAWARE
Of the approximate 250 horses at the feedlot in Filley, It was said the Brokers didn't want her and left her behind. Delaware is an elderly mare with a sweet personality. She loves to get her attention and is willing to hang out with you as long as your willing to love on her and give her her apple treats. I brought her home on Saturday 3/24/07 to put her in quarantine from the others and to get her started on the care needed to get her on the road to recovery. First thing we did this day was wormed her and got her settled in to an area to relax and settle in. As you can see, she is severly underweight and sunken in at the back area ofstomach/front hip area, and is going to go to the veterinarian on Monday for an overall checkup. Welcome Home Delaware!! You are now safe and on the road to recovery. I will update you on her progress......We Love You Delaware!! UPDATE!!!! 3/26/07-Delaware has been to the Veterinarian Clinic in Bern KS for her Initial Checkup.......The Vet thought Delaware was 19 to 20 years old. She had her teeth filed because she had a problem with eating. She had areas in her mouth where teeth were pretty wore down but would eat fine after having teeth floated. She was also preg checked because it was said at the feedlot she was bred and could be pregnant, YEAH!! No Baby! Because she is so poorly built in the back side, she has an infection so she is being treated with antibiotics for the infection, no temp so that's a plus. She had a procedure done and stitches put in to keep her from getting another infection. Between the infection, her teeth, and the fact of having worms, Bots and Stronoids or bloodworm, are what he felt caused her weight loss. She is to be wormed again in 2 weeks with Quest and then in another 2 weeks, Equmell. Vet said he felt she could make a full recovery. She was a Wonderful patient at the Vets Office. Mamma was proud of her. Your in Mama's Prayers Sweetie!! SPONSOR ME!!

MEET BLUE DESTINY
Blue Destiny is believed to be between the ages of 3 to 5 years. She was rescued on Tuesday when I went to the Filley Feedlot to help with the rescue effort of the horses. Destiny is a very sweet personalitied girl and loves her attention. After each day I spent at Feedlot I would spend time with her to let her to let her know she was safe. Destiny reached a point in the during the week where she would seek me out for attention. Dentiny also assisted me with working with a Filley, Annie, at the feedlot that had an initial imprinting and first lesson in halter. She assisted with biting the lead rope to help hold the rope to Annie. Thanks Destiny!....lol. It was believed she was at the Fairbury Auction in October and being sold as a Green Broke. This beautiful girl was named by Lin of EPONA Horse Resuce and Heather of Angelheart Horse Rescue. Blue because she is a blue roan and white paint and Destiny because she has finaly reached her Final Destiny.
WELCOME HOME DESTINY
YOU ARE NOW SAFE...
WE LOVE YOU!!!

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN ON TUESDAY MORNING.....THE DAY RESCUES INVOLVED WITH THIS RESCUE EFFORT TOOK A WALK THRU OF ALL THE HORSES TO SEE ALL THAT WERE THERE AND THE START OF THIS RESCUE. THIS PALIMINO THAT IS RECEIVING A HUG, WOULD NOT AT FIRST LET ME TOUCH HIM SO I WENT ON TO GIVE ATTENTION TO DESTINY. HEATHER TOOK A PICTURE OF DESTINY AND I TOGETHER, SEE ABOVE, AND WHILE POSING FOR A PICTURE, THIS PALIMINO GELDING COME OVER TO DESTINY AND I. I TURNED AFTER PICTURE TAKEN TO FIND IT WAS THE BEAUTIFUL PALIMINO THAT CAME OVER FOR HIS ATTENTION. I SPENT TIME WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL PALIMINO, TALKING TO HIM AND GIVING HIM THE ATTENTION HE CAME OVER FOR AND THEN GAVE HIM A BIG HUG. IF YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURE AGAIN, YOU'LL SEE THE SORRELL QUARTER HORSE WITH FLAXEN MANE AND TAIL TO THE RIGHT OF THE PALIMINO LAYED IS HEAD OVER THE PALIMINO'S BACK FOR A GROUP "HUG". THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PICTURES OF THIS RESCUE EFFORT BECAUSE IT WAS A SPECIAL MOMENT OF A SAD SITUATION. TO ME THIS PICTURE SHOWS THE TRUE COMPASSION AND LOVE HORSES HAVE FOR THEIR HUMAN COMPANION AND THAT THEY WANT SO MUCH TO BE LOVED ON AND BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO A WONDERFUL LIFE. WHEN I SAW THIS PICTURE, I WAS DETERMINED THAT THIS BEAUTIFUL BOY AND THE SORRELL GELDING WERE TO BE RESCUED. THE GREAT NEWS IS THAT THIS PALIMINO WAS RESCUED AND IS GOING TO A GENTLEMEN THAT WANTED TO RESCUE A PALIMINO. AS FOR THE SORRELL, HE WAS RESCUED AND WAITING TO BE QUARANTINED BEFORE BEING ADOPTED TO HIS NEW FOREVER HOME.
