 What is a Jireh?  It isn't an acronym or a sniglet.  Jireh is one of the Hebrew names of God in the Old Testament. Jehovah Jireh is  the "Provider"

He is our provider.  He has provided everything for us and is our salvation.  He has provided the only way of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ whom we wish to honor in all we do.

Our goal is to provide the commercial market with the best wethers possible, and to provide other breeders with the best breeding stock available both for commercial and show purposes.

 

Jireh Enterprises began in 1999 with two crossbred dairy goats. I was encouraged by my father-in-law to breed those girls to a Boer goat buck, "the kids will be worth more". At that time there were no Boers in Kansas that I knew of so with his help we purchased a grade Boer buck from a sale in Tenn. The offspring of those first two goats as well as the acquisition of some bottle babies from a nearby "horse trader" who wasn't interested in having to raise bottle babies, got us started on our Boer goat odessy. After about two years of breeding percentage grade Boers we decided that it wouldn't cost anymore to feed registered goats than the grade. Operating on a shoestring budget we purchased two fullblood reg. Boer bucks. One intentionally and one when the price was just too good to pass up. We also purchased a reg. Fullblood doe because, again, the price was too good to pass up. She can be seen on the doe page along with her offspring. The rest, as they say, is history. With nearly 7 years behind us now, we have a better idea of what we are doing and where we are going. We have been very successful with our show wethers (see bragging page) and are looking to achieve the same success with our fullblood breeding stock. We have a herd of traditional, red, black, and paint goats that we are extremely proud of and are constantly striving to improve. Ennobled goats in our herd include, but are not limited to: EGGSFILE En., Maul Extender En., Painted Warrior En. Oscar En., EGGSPENSE Account En., EGGSALTED Mona En., Sunny Acres Red Tail En., EGGSTREME En., Top Gun 2 En., FSE Blue Chip En., Sumo En., as well as other notables Almond ACres Oreo, XS Yakima Canutt,FSE Mr. Mo and others.

In the summer of 2007 we added Hair sheep to the mix on our property.  These are White Dorper and Dorper/Khatadin cross ewes.  They have been running with a  White Dorper ram and have begun lambing. These are a quiet, easy to handle sheep that require no shearing. Bred strictly for their meat, they grow quickly and are low maintainence.
