Roy Eugene Davis was born in 1931 in Leavittsburg, Ohio. At the age of 18, he read Paramahansa Yogananda's classic book "Autobiography of a Yogi", and felt an instant connection with the great master and Kriya Yoga tradition. He traveled to California to meet his guru in 1949, and was accepted for monastic discipleship training. Two years later (1951) he was ordained by Yoganandaji, and one year after that he was appointed as minister of the Phoenix Self-Realization Fellowship Center. In 1972, he moved to Georgia to establish the Center for Spiritual Awareness as a permanent base for his ministry, which continues to flourish and inspire truth-seekers from all over the world.

" Intentional self-discipline, study of nature of consciousness, and surrendering ego sense in order to experience the Larger True Nature is the way to Self-actualization abd freedom. This has been known and taught for millenia; it is time-tested because of the experiences of hundreds of thousands of illumined seers. One's outer form of worship is personal and should be respected as such; the inner way is the same for all. It is the way of awakening and transcendence. The average person is at the mercy of drives and tendencies which have roots in the deep unconscious. The awakened person's life is determined by superior-influences which are grounded in the field of Pure Consciousness. Physical birth and death are but minor incidents for the soul when a more cosmic view is experienced. Little does the average person know of his past experience in this and other realms, and little does he suspect his true origin and certain destiny. Sooner or later all souls will awaken and consciously experience omnipresence. This cannot be avoided by any of us. We have come from the ocean of life and we will awaken to it at the right moment. Planetary consciousness is being cleansed at at rapid rate, and increasing numbers of men and women are coming to terms with their own spirituality and their relationship with God, the world, and each other. There is increasing evidence that more people are willing to assume responsibility for their lives and for the nourishment of the planet , and this is an indication of growing maturity.
.......Many years from now, as we review the course of our lives, let us be able to say, " I did my best to be open to God's goodness, and to help make this world a more congenial place for my brothers and sisters, and for future generations."
