A LITTLE ABOUT ME.....
Hi everyone, my name is Kristin and I'm a 25yr old wife & mom here in California. Back in the day, before I became pregnant with my little girl I was a lovely size 6/8 and went up and down between 123-145 lbs. While I was pregnant I gained 50 lbs. which was a lot more than I had planned on. While nursing my daughter I lost some of the weight, but when I stopped breastfeeding my weighed sky rocketed even higher. At my highest weight I was 204 lbs. and a size 18/20.
MY EYE OPENER....
For my daughter's 3rd birthday I took her to Disneyland (in March of 2005). When we came home and I glanced over our vacation photos I was brought to tears. I had no idea that I had gained that much my weight. I did not realize I was so large. Normally I am quick to put my photos in one of my many scrapbooks, but I had a hard time with these photos, I was so embarrassed! I was determined to make a change. There had to be a way. I just turned 23 years old and I was over weight, I had no energy to play outside with my daughter and I was already beggining to have problems with my joints in my knees and ankles. I had to face it, I was "obese" and out of shape. I decided to give Weight watchers a try.
STARTING WEIGHT WATCHERS....
I started weight watchers in spring of 2005, I started drinking water, tried playing tennis, exercised, and stayed with in my daily points. I did well and lost about 14 lbs. in 5 weeks. I even dropped down to a size 16! I was so happy I got a little too sure of my self and didn't stay faithful. I thought I was doing so well, that if I didn't journal everything, or if I went over my flex points once in a while I would still be fine, but I wasn't. I quit losing weight and went off plan all summer. I quit weighing in out of fear of what the scale might say.
REALITY CHECK....
In September of 2005 I was forced to look at my eating habits, reality check! The pre-school I worked at sells candy bars and sodas for .50 cents each. If we don't have the cash on hand we can always write on IOU and pay it later. Well, when my pay check came it had a note attached with a $83.45 IOU bill for the month. I couldn't believe I had over 160 candy bars and sodas in four weeks! And that was only the ones I had written IOU's for, I actually probably had closer to 250 candy bar and sodas. OUCH, that was really bad!
STARTING WEIGHT WATCHER AGAIN...
I decided to weigh in and give it a new try. And WOW, I maintained weight after all that time off plan over the summer. I officially started Weight Watchers again in September of 2005, I joined WW online and have done awesome! As of date (Jan.18th 2006) I have lost 46 lbs with only 28 left till I hit goal. I am currently 158 lbs. and a size 12 (almost a 10). I have to admit I am not big on exercising, I have lost most my weight by; staying with in points, staying on plan - including eating all my fruit, veggie, and dairy requirement for each day, drinking 80-120 oz of water a day, and cutting but on my diet sodas. When I do workout it's usually a brisk walk or a workout DVD in my bedroom. I also have tried to incorporate more physical activity in my daily life.
CLOSE TO GOAL...
Well, I've been at it since September of 2005 (almost 7 months now) and have been doing great! So far as of date (April, 8th 2006) I have lost 61.8 lbs and am in a size 6. However, I still have12.2 lbs left till goal and LOTS of toning to do. I have followed the 8 healthy guide lines and have stayed on plan and journaled EVERY SINGLE DAY since I joined last September. Sometimes, when eating a bit too much it is tempting to not journal or to under estimate points, but I have learned from previous atempts on weight watchers that when cheating the point system I am really only cheating myself. So stay faithful journaling!
MADE IT TO GOAL...
YEAH!! I made it to goal on June 27th, 2006. I'm currently 3.6 lbs below my goal weight and pretty comfortable where I'm at. I still have lots and lots of toning to do though. :)
JUST MARRIED...
I'm currently weighing between 117-120lbs. I married my Best Friend/Sweetheart last month (June 2, 2007). My wedding dress was a Xsmall/small and let me tell you that was an wonderful feeling.
BACK AT IT...
Feb 2009: After putting on the newlywed 15 lbs I've been back at it. I'm still in a size small and only 3 lbs away from goal.
