This is Betts' Bunny Barn, home to my beautiful Mini-Rex.
My name is Shanna-Kaye Betts, and I am a Youth Mini-Rex breeder located near Tyler Texas. I started raising Mini-Rex in 2000, when I was 8. I am 15 years old now, and have ~20 holes. I have bred several colors over the past few years, and now my main focus is OTTER.
When I first saw the black otters, I fell in love with them. I have since seen the blue and chocolate otter, and I think I fell head over heels all over again!!! Seeing just a few animals, I noticed that most of the rabbits that were being bred had nice color, but nothing else. The body type and ears were WAY too long and out of porportion. I decided to change that. I am breeding for a small compact otter that has beautiful color, and will win when placed on the show table.
With this decided, I called and emailed several breeders last August to find some expectional animals. I found a few breeders in the North part of the US that were willing and happy to help a youth breeder get started. When I went to the 2006 ARBA Convention in Fort Worth, I purchased a few really nice rabbits. I would like to thank the following breeders for helping me out with their advice and their bunnies:
