Rave Master Review- By Wonderboy

Rave Master

Alternative title:
    レイヴ (Japanese)
    Groove Adventure Rave
    Rave

Age rating: TV-7 (May contain mild bad language, violence)
Genres: Adventure, Some Romance (Shounen)

Rave Master is a definately must see. Filled with imaginative characters and up to date pop culture, Rave Master exceeds expectation. Sillyness, a catching plot, good art, and a cute fuzzy dog/snowman. That's what all anime needs right? Well Rave doesn't have any trouble exceeding all of those! A hilarious comedey about a young boy (Haru) with a power to save the 2/3 of the world that are left! He, his friend Ellie, and a little creature named Plue must fight the Dark Bring. (an evil power) In order to do that, they use something called... Rave.  Although it has some flaws, its positives definately outweighs its negatives.

(51 TV episodes based off of the manga "Rave".)

Story- 8/10
Haru Glory, the next "Rave Master" is a young boy setting out a journey with hias carrot nose dog Plue to save his world from the evil Dark Bring and the Shadow Guard. Along the way Haru meets a young spaztic girl named Ellie who loves to gamble. With her guns at her side she'll shoot at anything that moves (unless she runs out of bullets). With her Xena like scream you better duck. Chased by the Shadow Guard they must leave Junkyard Isle in order to find more rave stones and destroy more shadow stones. However it is not as easy as they think, faced with strong enemies, Haru must use his big Cloud Sword (a  La FF VII ) and his secret move explosion to destroy Shadow stones. Anyways he meets up with the leader of the Silver Ryhtm gang Musica who is a cool guy that can manipulate silver at his will. After breaking his sword Haru must go to the blacksmith Musica (Yes they are related but shhh... Haru doesn't know that). Anyways Musica fixes his sword and he is able to save Ellie from the "Beast Master." Now the younger Musica, Ellie, and Haru continue their journey to find Ellie's identity and find the Rave Stones.

Character Design- 10/10

I absolutely love these characters. Haru has super cool hair thats silver (yes silver and no Musica can't manipulate it. With his cool leather jacket and cool three spiked necklace, as well as his big sword that can change form, it is a perfect fit. Doesn't his name just sound cool Haru Glory (melts). Moving on Ellie, is your typical beautiful spaztic girl who has the biggest trigger finger. With her pink skirt and her white tank top she kicks ass in style. Probably one of the best characters ever Plue is a carrot nose dog not a carrot nose insect. Like Pokemon Plue can only say his name, howver he is a strong allie against evil. Acting as a spear head Ellie uses his pointy nose and chucks him at enemies either hurting the enemy or distracting the enemy. However Plue is not helpless, in one episode Plue uses his nose and spikes the feet of the evil shadow guard. Speaking of the Shadow Guard, they are your typical moronic singing evil organization. With their big butts and heavenly voices they are useless. Probably the coolest human in this series is Musica leader of the silver rythm gang. He is a laid back guy, but he'll kick your ass if you instigate him. Although in the beginning he has brown hair he changes it to black and spikes it, which is even cooler especially with his eyebrow piercings.

Art- 8/10

Although it has great character designs and god backgrounds, it is a bit cartoony for me. Plue is a bit too cartoony (don't get me wrong it fits him) but that's just my opinion. One more flaw is that Musica's eyebrow piercing are inconsistant, in one shot they are small, but in the next shot they are half his face. Other than that, the art is very very good.

Animation- 8/10

Rave Master has good flow especially during fight scenes, but the only problem I see is the repetitaveness of the strikes of the sword especially the fight between Haru and the Beast Master.

Music/Dialogue- 10/10

I love the music in Rave Master, with catchy lyrics and beats you'll be singing the theme songs until you stop breathing. Here's my favortie song in Rave Master. Rave-olution

Welcome to the tale of a land conquered by evil...
People in despair are living frightened to their bones!

Haru and the gang set out to find the answer
but together we must find a way to beat the Shadow Stones!
He who wields the sword must next become the master,
seeking out the stones with a carrot-nosed dog!?
Three heroes at once on a mission filled with danger...
THREE TWO ONE time for RAVE-OLUTION!
Quest for glory! Accepting our fate with the power that we own.
This is our hero's story! we'll be the greatest the world has ever known!

The dialogue in Rave Master is spectacular. All of the English voice actors fit perfectly with the characters and the dialogue reflects that of recent pop culture so many kids can recognize and get the jokes.

Overall- 9/10

Rave Master although it has some flaws it is a great anime.
So i leave you with this...3....2....1...Time for Rave-olution.
