Wappingers Knights of Columbus

Council #1646

Attention Brothers!  November 2009

  Brothers,

On November 7th we will be having our annual food drive for Christmas Baskets at Stop & Shop in Wappingers from 9AM-2PM.  I am asking for all the help I can get.

Would like to get both doors manned by two people each.  Can you please help us out for this yearly cause.  Please let me know if you can  and what time you can do.

Thank you.  John Gorman Chairman , 297-4872

Attention Brothers!  October 2009

Members are needed to pitch in.  Our council needs its Brothers involvement at all levels.  All of our principles, Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism, are handled by committees.  This structure enables the very principals to thrive.  And also spreads our efforts among many.  With our council approaching our 100th year, it speaks loudly of the commitment of our Catholic Brothers and their families, thru out our history.  It also means, a large percentage of our membership is more of a senior age.  These are the men who have already contributed a great deal of time and knowledge to shape our council.  And by their sacrifices, gave the council its longevity.

Recruiting new members is always important.  Reaching out, cultivating, and keeping our current Brothers inspired is just as crucial.

A place for you to be comfortable volunteering awaits, whether you have an hour or more.

Contact the Grand Knight, Jim Mortillaro, or attend the next council meeting: you
will be informed of upcoming activities and connected with their chairmen.

Charity, Unity, Fraternity, Patriotism.

Wappingers Knights of Columbus was chartered in 1912.  Its a council full of history.  Many great men have come through our doors and helped out our Church, (St. Mary's of Wappingers Falls), our village and our community, and many worthwhile charities over the years.

The Wappingers Ladies Auxiliary, gives the ladies of our council a spotlight to glow in!  They have always been supportive and assisted in the programs council 1646 has been involved with.  But now they have a means to socialize, organize, and help needs that are important to the auxiliary.

Please look around our web site, look at our monthly newsletter and Upcoming Events.  You'll see that the strong history gives our new members a sense of duty.  We have many activities going on at all times.  Most are open to the public.  There is something for everyone.  We are always looking for new members to join our ranks as well.  You'll find information within this site to enable you to join.
