YOUTH VOLUNTEERING
For youth, volunteering brings a new sense of confidence, self-gratification and a good way to interact in the "grown-up world". It also enables young people to develop new communication, career building and social skills that will be useful in other facets of their lives.
An important priority for most volunteer managers is to recruit effective and competent volunteers while helping in their personal development. Youth volunteers bring boundless energy, fresh perspective and vitality to the organization
FAMILY VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering together is a creative way for families to enjoy each other's company while making a contribution to the community. Today, families come in as many shapes and sizes as there are volunteer opportunities. Youth employment foundation is developing capacity-building resources to help create family volunteering opportunities within community-based organizations and to promote the benefits of family volunteering as an innovative way to make a difference. Through involving families, volunteering becomes a real possibility for thousands of people of all ages
EMPLOYER-SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERISM
Volunteers around the world are addressing social, economic, cultural and humanitarian needs. Ghana is beginning to see an emerging trend around employer-supported volunteerism. Today more than ever, companies are supporting and encouraging employee volunteer initiatives in the community.
Having employees involved in voluntary activity sends a message to the community that the business sector is concerned about community issues. By supporting community, businesses are building the overall health of the community. In turn, a better business climate is established and the well being of employees and customers increases. Supporting employees who are in leadership roles in the community increases the visibility of the business, strengthening employee morale and the pride employees have in the company they work for

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT
Here during our research in the region we find out that the youth lack a lot of personal development and empowerment so we decided to hold o youth developmental programs in every month to educate them on personal development and empowerment.
TEENAGE PREGNANCY AND POPULATION
The research we conducted indicate that there is a great increases on teenage pregnancy in the region, so we decided to take it our selves to Educate the youth on the need to avoid sex before marriage, in other to save them from pregnancy and it effect on population.
HIV/AIDS
Here also we find out that this region is the leading HIV/AIDS contributor in chief on Aids in Ghana, because the research indicates that the region is contributing about 35 percent on the national records. There is the need to intensify Education on the youth on the field of this Disease.
RESEARCH AND PLANNING
Research indicate that the youth in this region does not know the importance of research and planning, so we did take it our selves to let them know the need to do research and proper planning for them selves, because you could see that there is no future planned for about 500 youth that we contacted both on the mail and physical contact.
READING AND WRITING
This is really unbelievable as a youth about 16 years and above cannot write their name how much more can they write, so we have really planned to help them to least know how to write their names.

INTRODUCTION
We are happy to informed you about our participation in this years Global Youth service Day celebration which fall on 13th April 2003 in Ghana, Because we did not celebrate it to our expectation.
We organize our Gysd in a form of Debate and Discussion on the Topic: IS CHILD LABOUR THE FAULT OF PARENT OR NOT, where by we had other youth organization including Agbami Associate Optimist, Ethereal youth and Maamobi Youth clubs participated.
We also did discuss for about four hours and came out with the way forward for Youth Education in our communities and after we arrived with a project entitled: SERVICE-LEARNING.
During our discussions we find out that youth education in the Region has fallen drastically and we see it as duties of the youth to come out with a program to improve the issues astake.
However, this program is been targeted to run for 5 years period with the help from some international and local organizations. Since we do not have enough logistics/materials/ books etc.to run this projects.
WHY SERVICE-LEARNING
Service-learning is an educational volunteer teaching program aimed at improving youth education in Ghana, whiles you learn out of your teaching.
Service-learning has been a major program in the USA with government intervention, which aim at given a free education to the the people of America with support and awards from the US President.
The Youth employment Foundation, Ghana taught it wise that the service learning projects would help the youth of Ghana and our communities.
In Africa to be precise Ghana we find out that the level of youth education is volatile, however, we decided to implement service-learning ti improved youth education in our communities.
Meanwhile Nkawkaw is been chosen to pilot this project.
