What is the Knoxcam?

We are Knoxville's chapter of the Camarilla. The Camarilla is the official fan club of the world of darkness that is published by White Wolf; Inc. It's a group of like-minded individuals who come together to play the games that are produced as well as participate in other social activities. We coordinate events for fund raising, charity, and also tabletop and LARP gaming. It's a great resource for the WW fan in everyone.

What is a LARP?

LARPing is a type of game format that is used with the Mind's Eye Theatre rules that are published by White Wolf. When playing a LARP, the players do not sit around a table telling a game master what their character is doing. Instead the player moves around a set space by the players and storytellers. Oftentimes this space is prepared for the game with props and decoration to increase the enjoyment of the experience. There are rules that are set ahead of time that commit to personal safety so that all who play in the game will be able to enjoy themselves.

How do you play?

Characters, or Personas, are created to be role played out during the course of the game. We provide a list of "clans" to choose from for all venues. The more players there are the more characters there will be to interact with. The interactions are generally settled with a bit of your own personal communication skills and a rules system that uses paper, rock, and scissors to determine the winner of conflicts, mental, social, and physical. This allows for smoothness of game-play and allows anyone to play any kind of character they wish.
