But they went off and blazed and spread His fame abroad throughout that whole district. (Matt. 9:31 AMP)
The Adult Dance Team at KLMI is known as B.L.A.Z.E.D.:
Bodies Led & Anointed in Zealous, Expressive Dance
We walk in our foremost purpose, as stated in Matthew 9:31 - "to spread the fame of Jesus Christ" through our willingness and obedience to dance. We have ministered in several different arenas, including churches, community events, weddings, and of course at our own house of worship. Our song repetoire is extensive and includes both choreographed and prophetic demonstrations. B.L.A.Z.E.D. is made up of brave and bold women, but we're praying that God would raise up some mighty men of valor to serve with us in ministry!
For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. (I Corinthians 9:19-21 KJV)
The Hip Hop Dance Ministry is known as T.O.R.C.H.:
Teaching Others to Receive Christian Hip-Hop
In 1 Cor. 9, Paul talks about "becoming all things to all men" so that he could "win some". This is the goal of T.O.R.C.H., our Hip Hop dance team. Many in the Body of Christ have just begun to embrace "praise dancing," but continue to shun the use of Hip Hop demonstrations to attract a younger generation to Christ. Just like Paul, our desire is to become "all things" to the hip hop generation so that we have opportunity to win as many as possible to Christ, while at the same time maintaining a righteous standard. Paul desired to minister to those under the law (those who knew God) and those who were "lawless" or without God. He understaood that in both arenas, there were those who needed the Good News of the Messiah and he was determined to bring that Good News to them on whatever level they needed him to. That is T.O.R.C.H.'s desire and that is what we strive for.
"If I say, I will not make mention of [the Lord] or speak anymore in His name, in my mind and heart it is as if there were a burning fire shut up in my bones. And I am weary of enduring and holding it in; I cannot [contain it any longer.]" (Jeremiah 20:9 AMP)
The Mime Ministry is known as F.I.R.E.:
Fervently Igniting Righteous Exaltation
F.I.R.E. is our mime or pantomime ministry. Pantomime is "the art or technique of conveying emotions, actions, feelings, etc., by getures without speech." Miming is such a powerful ministry because of its "mute" affect. Onlookers many times can relate to the 'silent cries' of those pantomiming the same emotions they feel or have felt or the process they have gone through during any given situation or circumstance. F.I.R.E. only recently became an "official" part of the overall dance ministry, but has already been a blessing to everyone who has experienced the mime ministry. Our desire is to express with such intensity and fervor, that you sense our FIRE and that fire ignite a PASSION for worship in you!
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." (Matthew 5:14-15 NIV)
The Children's Dance Ministry is known as C.A.N.D.L.E.:
Christ's Anointing Never Dies but Lights Everything
C.A.N.D.L.E. is the "miniature" version of B.L.A.Z.E.D. in that they are being prepared to one day take KLMI's dance ministry to the next level in God. They do not sit on the sidelines but are "set on a hill" to show other children what can be done through the anointing and to show adults that "out of the [limbs] of babes comes perfected praise." Their dance seeks to illuminate and direct your attention to Christ. They continually "light up" every house of worship they minister in. C.A.N.D.L.E. has been activated in all areas of dance ministry and attend the same trainings, workshops, and practices as the rest of the Dance Ministry. They are anointed and appointed by God for this time!
