Welcome to My World

A girl should always be two things: Classy & Fabulous

Hello!!! Thanks for dropping by!

For most of my life I've struggled with my weight. I was this skinny scrawny little jumping bean, but when I was 5 I was diagnosed with leukemia. After going through 2 years of chemotherapy and prednisone my eating habits were atrocious (for those of you who are unaware, prednisone is an awful steroid that blocks your ability to feel full). I gained a lot of weight over those 2 years, weight that I've continued to carry with me my whole life. My life has been a weight roller coaster and I really want to get off the ride.

In June 2008 I went skydiving and on the little card I had to fill out I put 185 lbs because that's sincerely how much I thought I weighed (I never went on scales becasue I would always go to the doctor with my mom and she would make me feel horrible if she didn't approve of the number) but when you skydive for the first time they make you and your tandem instructor step on the scale so they know what kind of parachute to use. When I stepped on the scale, I tipped the needle to 225lbs. I was horrified, disgusted and embarrassed. I knew it was time for a change.

When I got home from my trip I went to the gym every day that week and smartened up my eating and I lost 4 lbs that week. But I still was distressed about a long term weight loss plan and one night while I was sitting on the couch at 2 am I saw a Weight Watchers commercial for a free week trial, I immediately signed up and that week I lost 5 lbs. The following week I had a monthly pass and attended my first meeting with my roommate, weighing in at 216. I love Weight Watchers and I am so glad I decided to give it a whirl. I will be using this website to track my progress and hold myself accountable and share my accomplishments and struggles with you. You never know what might help in your own journey, thank you for being a part of mine!

It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle! I also want to thank my friends and family who have been so supportive and encouraging! xoxo
