ABSTRACT
In this investigation are compared the academic achievements in Thai language on the part of students who studied using the computer program “Thai Language for Communication and Retrieval” (Th 43202) and those who were taught by traditional classroom methods.
The research population was comprised of seventy-four Mathayom Suksa 6 students at Bangpleeratbamrung School who were enrolled in the second semester of the academic year 2005. The research population was selected through an application of the simple random sampling method to a sample population of 119 students. The research population was equally divided into an experimental and a control group for purposes of investigation.The experimental group consisted of thirty-seven students studied the Thai language by means of the Thai Language for Communication and Retrieval (Th 43202) computer program The thirty-seven students of the control group studied the Thai language in the traditional classroom fashion.The research tool was an academic achievement test having an efficiency level of 81.25/83.00. The data was analyzed using the t-test technique.
The findings indicate that the academic achievement of those studying the Thai language by means of the Thai Language for Communication and Retri computer program had a higher level of academic achievement at the statistically significant level of 0.05 than those studying the Thai language in the traditional classroom fashion.
