Erich Kleiber - From Vienna To Zurich

- 1890 Born in Vienna (August 5) 
- 1900 Kleiber enters the Was a Gymnasium, Vienna. Receives violin lessons. 
- 1907 Hears Mahler conduct the first Vienna performance of his Sixth Symphony (January 4) 
- 1908 Returns to Prague and attends the Conservatoire 
- 1912 Appointed third conductor at the Darmstadt Court Theatre 
- 1913 Hears Nikisch conduct Tristan at the Darmstadt Spring Festival 
- 1916 Steps in at last minute to conduct general rehearsal of Der Rosenkavalier 
- 1919 Appointed first conductor at Wuppertal 
- 1921 First conductor at Dusseldorf 
- 1922 First conductor and conductor of the Akademie concerts in Mannheim. 
- 1923 (23 August) Berlin debut in Fidelia , on one rehearsal; three days later appointed Generalmusikdirektor at the Berlin Staatsoper 
- 1923 First recordings with the Berlin Staatskapelle for Vox - 1924 Conducts the Berlin premiere of Janacek 's Jenufa (March 17) 
- 1925 Conducts world premiere of Berg's Wozzeck (December 14)

Carlos Kleiber - From South America To Italy

- 1930 Born in Berlin (July 3) 
- 1934 Emigrated in South America. 
- 1940 Moved with his family to Chile. 
- 1950 After one appearance in Europe, returned again to South America-Buenos A ires, where he seriously started studying music 
- 1952 Appointed rehearsal pianist at the Bavarian Theater in Munchen 
- 1954 Debut with the operetta "Gasparone" of Karl Millocker 
- 1956 His father died (January 27) 
- 1958 The year of the first stagings at Dusseldorf- Puccini and Smetana 
- 1964 Moved in Zurich, where he remained until 1966 1966 Appointed head conductor at Stuttgart - until 1968. British debut in Edinburg "Wozzeck". 
- 1968 Activity is sensibly reduced: his conductor's ability is already recognized. Appointed guest-conductor at the Bavarian Opera in Munchen: ten-years of successes started. 
- 1973 Finally left Stuttgart and continued his career only with separate, distinguished appearances. Debut in Vienna with "Tristan". 
- 1974 Debut in Bayreuth with "Tristan und Isolde" and in Covent Garden in London- "Der Rosenkavalier". 
- 1975 Debut in La Scala with "La Boheme ". 
- 1976 Opened the season of La Scala with "Otello ". Began fruitful cooperation with the chief performer and the producer - Placido Domingo and Franco Zeffirelli. 
- 1977 First conducting in USA - San Francisco. 
- 1980 Became Austrian citizen. 
- 1988 Debut in Metropolitan in New York with "La Boheme". 
- 1989 First New Year 's Eve in Vienna 
- 1992 Second New Year's Eve in Vienna. 
- 1997 Conducted at the Festival in Ravenna 
- 1999 Conducted two concerts in Caliari, dedicated to Beethoven (the last till nowadays) 
- 2000 Completely withdrew of the concert life (July).
- 2004 Dies at the Slovenia (July 13)
