Feburary Tuesday 11th Mar '03 Tuesday 11th Mar 2003 Well it's been a while since I've updated, but fear not! I havent lost interest in this project!! But now the winter is starting to settle in, dad is still lazy and hasnt got around to making starting on all these projects (can anyone say procrastinator?). But I'm sure I'll get started sooner or later. :) We were discussing engines and dad was fairly dead set on getting a small engine (of the motor mower type) but once we looked at the prices ($999 - for a new 6.0hp Horizontal shaft!!) he quickly decided on the bike engine way, it'll be a hell of a lot more fun as well. Not only will it be faster, but a lot more challenging designing the motor into the chassis. Oh yeah, news on the camera front. A friend of ours goes over to australia and are keen camera enthusiasts (sp??) and they know they're stuff and can apparently get a camera pretty cheap over there (digi cam prices here in NZ are ridiculus (I just can't seem to spell toady), but they're not going for another week then they'll be gone for 2 weeks. And to top it all off, a big electronics store is running a promotion on digital cameras at the same time. Phew, thats a lot of typing. Wednesday 26th Mar 2003 Whoa! Long time no update! Anyways, I was talking with my dad yesterday and we come to an agreement about starting this project. We're going to start work on our carport that we're going to build this go-kart and fix our tractor up (yes tractor, for putting our 14' boat in the water up at our holiday home) this weekend. Dad was out looking form some castor wheels (I think it was) and the shop he went too had perfect wheels for what we want on this go-kart. I'm still leaning towards the motorbike engine, dads leaning towards (what I like to call) lawnmower engines. Once he sees the prices of these 'lawn mower' engines, I'm sure he'll reconsider. Camera Update: Our friend comes back this saturday, she rang today and told us that most of the camera shop discouraged the 2MP models and encouraged a certain Olympus 3.2MP (not sure which model). We told her to go ahead with it, we'll get it from her pretty soon after she gets back. Umm, yeah, thats all! Please keep checking back!!
