A girl both new and small
Not yet seeing over her father the wall
The man had a new born baby
An older daughter and a generous lady
Compared to some he had it all
The three of them at his beck and call
No one knew why he acted so mean
Having so many shoulders upon to lean
Everyone ignoring his hurtful ways
Through the painful nights and days
The little girl grew older and wiser
The father began to demise her
She worked hard with her mother and sister
The father swung and never missed her
Nothing they did was ever good enough for him
Even though they answered to his every whim
Many years passed, about 8 or so
When the girl decided her father must go
She stood up for her mom one night
During her father’s terrible fight
Regardless of all her scars both out and in
She felt free as if she would win
She stood her ground and looked him in the eye
Tonight was one night she would not cry
Seeing the girl stand up to the man
Her mother and sister began to stand
The father surprised said get in line
Look what I’ve given you, no reason to wine
The girls still stood in the silence
The youngest said no more violence
We have taken you long enough
All this violence, you’re just too ruff
What you are doing is so very wrong
When we all stand up you’re not that strong
The man, speechless, left that night
By the end the sun shone its light
They had won and they were free
My mom, my sister, and me
Now our happiness will last
Regardless of our past
