MAD STALIN is a cosplay group based in the American Midwest.

But what IS a cosplay group?!

Cosplaying is a Japanese street fashion done mostly by

teenagers. They adopt the costume of a character, usually

an Anime character or a member of a popular Japanese

band. They wear these outfits, and sometimes even take

on the persona of the characters, any time they can. Then

they are called cosplayers.

Americans generally don’t cosplay day-to-day, but on

special occasions such as festivals or concerts. Most of the

members of MAD STALIN are those kinds of cosplayers,

however some of them have inescapably placed themselves

into a character’s garb (such as cutting and styling their

own hair) or choose to cosplay day-to-day.
