Story Synopsis: A Village Conversation, The First to Believe

Author’s Note:  This story is totally a work of fiction.  It comes from my imagination, and I do not intend to say that any of it actually happened.

Not much is known about Jesus boyhood and teen years, prompting the author to begin to question, “What if?”  A Village Conversation is the author’s answer to that question, her imagination’s vision of what MIGHT have happened in the young life of Jesus Christ.

At the time the story takes place, the young Man, Jesus, is preparing to leave His village to begin His ministry.  The story is told in flashback style, in the form of a series of conversations that take place between Aaron and Joshua, two village men who have watched the boy, Jesus, grow up.  The two men are reminiscing about Jesus childhood.

The conversations become heated at times, as the two men have differing viewpoints about Jesus true identity.  The extremely observant Joshua has witnessed events concerning Jesus that the other villagers are not aware of.  Could it be that Joshua will become the first to believe?

Story Synopsis:  Through This Valley, non-fiction

This series of essays tells the story of one couple's experience with colon cancer.  It is written with the intent of offering hope and encouragement to anyone who is currently facing cancer, or who loves someone who is.  The author tells that it’s possible to survive the dreaded disease, by taking one day at a time, and by turning the disease and all of its frightening aspects, over to our Lord and Father.

The author begins with her husband's dreaded cancer diagnosis.  She then tells about the surgery to remove the tumor, and of the ensuing complications afterwards.  She describes the feared and dreaded visit for that first chemotherapy treatment.

The series ends on a positive note, embracing a hopeful future.
