Kansas City Southern Lines
Kansas City Southern is the smallest major railroad to enter the St. Louis Area. In 1998, Kansas City Southern Industries bought out the Gatway Western Railway which acted as a Bridge route for the Santa Fe from Kansas City. When the Santa Fe merged with the Burlington Northern in Sept. of 1996, the GWWR was made redundent, since the BN already had 3 routes into St. Louis, the K-Line from the north, The Cuba Sub from the Southwest, and the River sub from the South. BNSF Sold GWWR to KCS in 1998, and GWWR was offically Merged into KCS on January 1st, 2006. The KCS Trains ran into the joint CN/IC and KCS yard in Valley Jct until Dec 20,2006. All trains now Originate and Termainate at the TRRA's yard in Madison, Illinois

The Southbound Schnieder Train with a recently renumbered AC4400CW crosses 20th Street in Granite City, IL. Former Number is 2003.
