Let Me Introduce Myself...

Firstly let me introduce myself...

I live in a little town in North Wales, very close to the beach and have enjoyed the company of rabbits as pets for the last 15 years, after buying my first rabbit as a child. Although he was a REW cross and the bunny from Hell, it still didn't put me off and I went on to add to my family...with another rabbit. This time an English buck we found wandering round our back garden. He was very friendly and seemed to be tame and enjoy a good cuddle - but even after posting notice's around town nobody ever claimed him. So he became a permanent resident.

Up until quite recently, he enjoyed many hoppy a time in the back garden. But sadly died last year at a ripe old age of at least 11 (he was an adult when we found him)...

Anyway many rescue bunnies later, I eventually found my way to a wonderful lady in Cheshire - where I purchased my first French Lop and have never looked back...

I still accept the occasional rescue rabbit, when I have hutch room...but am now concentrating on helping to improve the french lop and mini lop standard.

I recently became a member of The British Rabbit Council and after a few false starts, am now beginning to get the right base stock together. Including a recently acquired stunning (afraid my pic's don't do him justice), black otter french lop...(see frenchlop category)...

All my rabbits have lots of fresh hay available everyday and are given treats of fruits and vegetables (but in moderation)as well as the usual pellets mixed with rolled oats and ready grass also in moderation.

They have access to a lovely big garden in the summer and when it's not raining in the winter (or too cold).

I'm not 100% sure about a few of the shrubs in the Garden so until I get them checked out by a gardener friend, the bunnies have to stay inside a big rabbit playpen or some run's we have made.

Either way they love the freedom they have outside their hutches!!!

Otherwise they have to make do with the garage to run round in, which has been rabbit proofed (up to now, no-one has proved me wrong)...
