His tribe was wiped out by Kagura, Naraku's servant. Now Koga has sworn to avenge his tribe by killing Naraku. Koga has collected two shikon jewel shards and has one in each leg to boost his speed. When he meets up with Inuyasha and friends he pledges his love to Kagome, and that he will always protect her. However he does not join Inuyasha, but goes his own way to hunt Naraku.
