 Environmental Degradation and Social Decline Through Design. What can we do?
The art of landscape architecture and urban design goes beyond the skill of visual manipulation and into the realm of social change. The following pages titled "Environment," and "Society," briefly look at the problems our century faces and how thoughtful and educated urban design poses possible solutions. The page entitle "Theme" studies the balance between art and science as it plays out upon our landscapes and looks at some extreme examples of each- including the idea of the Theme Park, that unique and curious zone of suspension, extremism, subtlety, and iconography. |
